El-Aurian Alphabet
The el-Aurian writing system is was the official script of the el-Aurian people, up until the assimilation of the el-Aurian species into the Borg collective in 2266.  With the assimilation of the species, almost all el-Aurians were killed, with the exception of a few thousand who were able to escape their territory, or had been living away from their territory.  The el-Aurians were a far-flung species with el-Aurians living on worlds all across the alpha and beta quadrants, and even in the delta quadrant.  Their long life spans meant that journeys of several thousand light years even at warp would not take them a lifetime, so they were eager to travel far.  As such, even though the population of there home world was assimilated, some el-Aurians on alien worlds were not assimilated.  It is estimated that there are only 600 el-Aurians living in the federation, most of which were refugees who escaped the assimilation of their species.  The majority of these refugees live on Earth.  All though most el-Aurians are familiar with their native spoken and written language, they generally use the local language of the place they are staying.  As such, el-Aurian is rarely used by the el-Aurians out side of small micro communities of el Aurians living on various planets and in old el-Aurian texts, which survived the destruction of their world
The El-Aurian Alphabet
Notes
The el-Aurian writing system is mostly alphabetic; there are 25 letters, 5 vowels and 20 consonants.  The vowels and some of the consonants have more than one pronunciation,
El-Aurian writing is written in vertical columns going from top-to-bottom, right to left.  Most letters are written to the left of an unwritten central line, some are written on the centerline and three letters /i, /u/ and /r/ are written to the right of this line.
El-Aurian numbers are unique in the fact that they are quinary, or based on five.  There are only five numerals; 1 4 and a zero.  This means that decimal 5 is written as quinary 10, decimal 7 is quinary 12, decimal 23 is 43, 35 = 110 etc.  place value increases upward in order of magnitude; the units go at the bottom of a column and increase in fives upward.
