| SYNOPSIS: Presley plays Greg Nolan, a jet-setting, playboy photographer whose swingin' lifestyle is derailed by Bernice, domineering vixen with designs on his bachelorhood. Greg soon finds out that Bernice is a bit of a head case, adopting different names throughout the day (Bernice/Betty/Suzie/Alice), based on how she feels, and entertaining a variety of men, one of them being Harry Baby, played by Sargent. Bernice gets Greg fired from his job and moves him out of his own home and into hers. She manages to get him a new apartment, but it is so expensive that now he has to get two full-time jobs. Greg has difficulty juggling both jobs (one for a stuffy, conservative publisher, the other with a "girlie" mag), but still finds time to belt out "Almost in Love," "Wonderful World" and more in this wild romp. |

| REVIEW: This is one of Elvis weaker films that he made towards the end of his film career. It is an uneasy combination of the total fluff he had done before and an attempt to be more hip, adult and non-musical. Dick is typecast as the square and goofy Harry--a part Dick would play many times throughout his career--but compared to Elvis strong, silent type, macho persona, Harry comes across as effeminate. For example, when Greg gets ready to punch him, Harry cowers like a chicken. Nevertheless, Dicks performance brings to mind his wonderful work in a Bewitched episode: the one where Endora turns him into an overly friendly, agreeable--and annoying--yes-man. The highlight is a surreal, psychedelic dream sequence with Dick and the rest of the cast, which segues into one of Elvis song and dance numbers, appropriately title, The Edge of Reality. |
