THE LATE MR. JOHN M. K. MISICK.
----------------
It is with deepest regret that we hear of the death of Mr. John McDowell Kelley Misick, at Lahore, India the announcement of which arrived by cable on Monday, the 7th of March.
He was the eldest son of Mr. Terence Misick, M.C.P., for Somerset and of Mrs. Misick, Greenfield, Somerset. His thirtieth birthday was on the 25th of February last.
Mr. John M. K. Misick, was educated at the Saltus Grammar School, under Mr. J. Waddington, B.A., at Heidelberg, Germany and in England, and there is no doubt that a distinguished career was opening to him.
Until the beginning of the war his work in the Indian Mounted Police had been on the Persian Gulf in connection with the prevention of the traffic in illicit firearms. This would have been a permanent post, but on the outbreak of hostilities in Europe he was recalled to Lahore as Acting Superintendent of Police. He also volunteered for training in the Punjaub L. Infantry [sic] as an officer of the Indian Army. But for the war he would have been home on leave last Christmas.
The news fell as a fearful blow on his family and his many friends, and even those to whom he was not personally known, must lament a promising career cut short in the prime of life.
To Mr. and Mrs. Misick, and their remaining son and daughter, all will join in offering the deepest sympathy for the irreparable loss which has overtaken them.
