Our Mission

The Church of the Gnosis Kardias is first and formost a Gnostic Church. We believe that there is a spark of the Divine in everyone and that, through prayer and meditation, this spark can be fanned into the flame of Gnosis, which is the cornerstone of our belief.

We believe that the future of the Gnostic Church is small, independent parishes that are self-governing. We feel that larger, multi congregational churches are susceptible to politics and agendas that detract from the true spiritual work of the Gnosis.

We feel that the church is in the Congregation, not the Clergy. The role of the clergy is to serve the people by providing access to the sacraments; in matters concerning the church everyone has an equal voice.

We recognize the validity of other churches in the Gnostic Tradition and maintain many friendships with members of other churches, even though we wish to remain an autonomous self-governing church.
