Elizabeth Barrington came to town looking for her estranged daughter, Alison, whom she had abandoned years ago, but Alison wasn't ready for a mother/daughter reunion and wanted nothing to do with her mother. Alison was even furthermore shocked when she discovered that her equally estranged father, had died months before, and her mother was suspected of killing him, and that the only reason she came to town was to get her dead husband's money and her daughter's money left in his will, that she thought was owed to her. But as she got to know her daughter more, she began to feel guilty about her intentions, and wanted to make amends with Alison, but learning her mother's true intentions only upset her more. It was at this time that she was picked up by the mysterious rock star, Stephen Clay at the PC Grille bar, and the two made passionate love, even though they had met only a couple minutes earlier. She was completely enamored by him, and refused to believe everyone's claim, that he was actually a vampire named Caleb Morley! Then, Alison offered her a deal, she would give her, her inheritance left by her father, if she would help her find her sibling, whom she recently discovered she had, from one of her father's many affairs. Elizabeth agreed,and on the night that they were to travel to Canada to meet Alison's supposedly long lost sister, Elizabeth invited Stephen along on the flight, much to Alison's chagrin, but the plane crashed, and a distraught Elizabeth, fearing losing her daughter, finally confessed that she loved Alison and how sorry she was for the way she treated her all those years and couldn't bare to lose her. They both made amends, and later Elizabeth told Stephen that she couldn't be with him anymore, because she needed to work on rebuilding her relationship with her daughter. But Stephen didn't take this news lightly, and revealed his true vampiric form, by baring his fangs, and biting her on the neck! Elizabeth was horrified to learn she had become a vampire, but gave in to the seductiove Stephen, and they later took Alison and Rafe's place at the alter when they failed to get married, and got married instead! But when Stephen abandoned Elizabeth on their wedding night, a lonely and hungry Elizabeth bit Ian, who had come to rescue her from her vampire marriage! Elizabeth had to keep the fact that she bit Ian from Stephen, since he threatened to kill her if he found out that she had bitten anyone! When Stephen talked her and Joshua into going on a trip with Alison, who was determined to visit the last place that her father and Elizabeth's late husband, Malcolm, was last seen alive, Elizabeth saved her daughter's life by biting and supposedly killing Joshua, when Joshua tried to attack Alison. Alison was touched that her mother saved her life, and agreed to keep the fact about Elizabeth killing Joshua a secret from Stephen. However, when Elizabeth returned to Port Charles, she was terrified when she began seeing visions of Joshua, until Joshua finally revealed himself! It turned out that Elizabeth's bite hadn't kill Joshua, it just turned him into a vampire also! A threatening Joshua convinced a reluctant Elizabeth to team up with him to take down Stephen/Caleb, when Caleb dumped her, and the two began a sort of sexual vampire type relationship, where they slept together and allowed each other to feed off one another. However, when Alison walked in on Elizabeth allowing Joshua to feed off of her, an angry Alison cut ties with her mother. Elizabeth was overjoyed when she was temporarily tuned back into a human, when Caleb was briefly killed by Lucy,however when Tess brought him back to life with her healing powers, a disappointed Elizabeth was back to being a vampire!.Later on, Elizabeth was devastated when she saw Caleb/Stephen in bed with Tess, proving that she was not quite over her former husband just yet! Later on, when she followed Alison, Rafe, Lucy and Ian to the hot spring located under Caleb's loft beneath Port Charles, Elizabeth fell in, and a devastated Alison cried over Elizabeth's body, thinking her mom had died. However, Elizabeth woke up from her unconsciousness and everyone was shocked when they learned that Elizabeth was no longer a vampire! The hot spring turned her back into a human! Alison made amends with her mother...for the time being. Elizabeth cut ties with Joshua, although he continued to force her to help him further his evil plans from time to time and Lucy and Elizabeth also teamed up to find Alison when she was kidnapped by Joshua. Elizabeth befriended Kevin, and the two briefly became an item, but she became jealous of his friendship with Karen. What will happen next? Stay tuned to find out! |
