"New Figurative Works"
An Exhibition of an intimate series of figurative works by Keijo Tapanainen.
Finnish born, Toronto artist Keijo Tapanainen continues his examination of the human figure in this intimate series of figurative works. These elegant figures are drawn from life using handcut carbon paper mounted on a kraft substrate. Tapanainen attempts to capture the persona conveyed through gestures, yet grounds the work in the physical reality of a keenly observed subject, intensified by his intuitive response to the form.

"ENSO"
- Contemporary Japanese Calligraphy Exhibition -
An Exhibition of work by Noriko Maeda.

Enso is a symbolic shape in Japanese Calligraphy. It is simply a circle, however, every circle reflects the uniqueness of the creator. In Zen Buddhism, it is said that Enso exposes the absolute truth and symbolizes enlightenment and the universe. The painting of an Enso is an expression of the moment and reveals the spirit of the artist. The strength of the line, its splashes, rugged bumps and seamless flow are all filled with subtle, yet complex, nuances. As no two creators are alike, the same lines resonate differently to its viewers.

"RECENT PAINTINGS"
An Exhibition of recent works by Kyle Stewart.

"I have gained a profound appreciation for nature and all its many shapes, colours and complexities. This bond with nature strengthened while in Spain visiting a friend. I adopted an intense admiration for the work of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. My oil paintings are in tune with the varying landscapes of Ontario, and share the whimsical approach for which Gaudi was well-known and admired. My intention is not to reproduce nature, but to create my own environment inspired by my experiences with natural landscapes and architecture."

An Exhibition of an installation pieces and large scale paintings by Misaki Kawai..

For this exhibition, Misaki Kawai has created both installation pieces and large scale paintings.
In this show, titled Outdoor Club, her subject matter includes imagery from sporting activities
and the wilderness. In one painting, a plane, which is holding a snake hostage, flies through
a forest of evergreen trees, with postcard-esque images of downhill skiers and tobogganers lining the backdrop. Misaki invites the viewer to participate in her fantasy world, where man and animal are best friends and where soldiers use pencil crayons as their ammunition.
