"Wisdom from A-Z"
An Exhibition of a new paintings by Rob Croxford.

"Wisdom from A-Z" is an exhibition of new work by Rob Croxford.
This exhibition is an exercise in whimsy. Each of brightly coloured – vintage
themed canvases represents a letter of the alphabet. For example, the “B”
canvas depicts a Bowling Ball and a quote from George Ball. The “C” canvas
depicts a Croc Shoe and a quote from CoCo Chanel!

"Urban Nocturnes"
An Exhibition of oil paintings by emerging Toronto artist Stephen Noble.

"Urban Nocturnes" is an exhibition of new oil paintings by Toronto artist
Stephen Noble. They focus on urban nightscapes -- a new subject for
Noble, whose past work mainly featured rural landscapes. Unlike the calm
and solitude of this earlier work, we now feel the spirit and bustle of the city.
Noble captures this by painting “plein air” studies, which become
the source for the finished piece.

"GLOBAL LAUNCH"

- What has Architecture Done for You Lately? -

Architecture is connected to virtually everything we do, every part of society, and every human interaction, but do we know how to design in today’s world? Are we aware of the immense interconnectedness of architecture to every facet of our lives? By exploring architecture through the lens of economics, equality, emotion, health, and the environment, we can discover the potential and the power of mobilizing global citizens to become the architects of the future built environment.

The Design Exchange is excited to host the global launch of What Has Architecture Done For You Lately?, an exhibit creating a new vernacular around architecture as a critical social and global issue challenging our world today. It highlights architecture as it intersects with every aspect of our lives. The exhibition – which uses conceptual art to generate dialogue – explores how best to transcend the stereotypes surrounding architecture, so as to make it dynamic, accessible, and generate awareness that every global citizen is actively involved in this discipline – whether consciously or subconsciously.

"Passing Landscapes "
An Exhibition of new mixed media work by Silvana Bruni.

Passing Landscapes is a show featuring Silvana Bruni’s new mixed media work on both acrylic glass and used drumheads. These visual autobiographical narratives are informed and inspired by the artist’s own life, including the philosophy and practice of Zen Buddhism and yoga. Bruni’s established oeuvre on glass and drumheads—her trademark canvases—serves as the foundation for daily observations, dilemmas, insights and revelations in her pursuit of capturing the “fleeting moment”. Her latest show develops this theme of time and impermanence by focusing on the practice of releasing the “fleeting moment” in order to ultimately seize it.

"Miles Away"

An Exhibition of oil on canvas by Paul Chester.

Inspired by the horizons, water scenes and rolling hills that surround his studio in Southeastern Ontario, the contemporary landscapes of Paul Chester are in a tradition of Canada's impressionists, though tempered by a modern sensibility. The fleeting diaphanous vision demonstrates Chester's extraordinary relationship with nature. His paintings are hazy, almost dream-like dug-up afterthoughts of emotion..

"L'Amour est entre."

Exposition photographique de Ifèdé Adébo.

Ma passion pour la Photographie m'est venue un peu par hasard.
Petit, j'aimais regarder a traversl' Objectif de l'appareil photo de mon pere!
Puis un jour, suite a une serie de phgotographies en Noir et Blanc faites
a son insu, je me suis apercu que toutes mes photos etaient bien cadrees!
En particulier la reprise d'une pochette de disque de Bob Marley dont
je suis un inconditionnel
.

Alors je me suis dit:

Je peux vraiment voir le monde comme j'en ai envie!

"Love has come in."

An Exhibition of photography by Ifèdé Adébo.

My passion for photography took hold of me by a little by chance.
As a kid I loved to look through the lens of my dad's camera.
Then one day, after taking some black and white shots without
his knowledge, I noticed that all my pictures were well framed!
Especially the cover of a Bob Marley record, of whom
I'm a die-hard fan
.

So I siad to myself:

I really am able see world the way I want to.

"a care which is soft, gentle and extremely affectionate"

An Exhibition of recent paintings by Tooran Zandieh.

Tooran Zandieh measures things with all the care of the world, a care which is soft, gentle and extremely affectionate. Because each piece is going to come and stand by the next piece and the next pieces, and together they are going to make other wholes which had not existed before. And the last stage of things is a blinding caressing of the eyes by the colours and shapes that have gathered together on the space of femininity..

"Empty Lots"
An Exhibition of work by Chad gerth.

Installed at Art Chicago, Chad Gerth's photo series Empty Lots represents
Chicago's urban cityscape though imagery of vacant lots from above.
The resulting planes of shape and colour portray the city not through its
distinctive skyline, but through the flatness of its natural terrain
.

The modernist construction of the urban area is exemplified by the rigidly
defined boundaries of both the city's grid and the tightly cropped and
carefully composed photographs
.

"The Unusual Space"

An Exhibition of an installation by Matthew Nye.

Installation artist and interior architect, Matthew Nye applies contemporary architectural
form to the design of an eighties office interior. With a tongue in cheek nod to that dated
but ubiquitous setting; an anomalous protrusion renders the space unusable, suggesting
an instantaneous occurrence or a mistake. The combinations of architectural language create
both a visual awe and a discomfort which address the highly subjective manner in which
we appreciate the built environment
.
