Our 2-month review classes is finally over and the
pioneers of the USLS college of medicine are already on our mark to go to Manila
and Cebu for the board exams. So Dr. Carmelo Canto, dean of the USLS
college of Medicine, together with Dr. Yvonne Cortes, thought of giving the
pioneers a special dinner just before we take our exams this August.
Present in the
said dinner are the pioneers - Mariela Araneta, Bien Eli Nillos, Joyce Pedreso,
April Gentugaya, Clarisa Patrimonio, Celna Tejare, Leah Tipagad, Enrique
Grajales, Emmanuel Magalona, Chad Brian Hilado and myself; the college staff Ms.
Farah, Ms. Joy and Cloyd and the dean himself and Dr. Cortes.
Dr. Carmelo
Canto shared some tips on how to pass the board examinations. He also
offered a deal that if all of us will pass ( 100% passing percentage) he will
find ways and means to get us all to Hongkong. That was a great
motivation, though. Dr. Cortes also shared an article about putting away
our fears for the boards and to think positively. She also said the
importance of prayers and how powerful it is. She also said that she can
see some potentials in us and she is confident enough that all of us will pass
the boards.
On the lighter
side, the pioneers also get to reminisce our unforgettable experiences in med
school that even the dean himself did not knew then - from the funny "sperm
count" at the labs to the "walang-kamatayang" Ella-Gerard fling.
We also shared what preparations we are actually making right now for the
boards. Some are even looking forward on what specializations they are
going to take after passing the board exams.
It was indeed
a night of fun and camaraderie. It was a great time to loosen up after
months of studying. I hope that it will not be our "last supper" together.
I hope that Dr. Canto will treat us again a dinner, this time, in Hongkong. |
