On April 28, 2007, the Bacolod Our Lady of Mercy
Specialty Hospital (BOLMSH) Post Graduate Interns (PGI) just ended another
chapter of medical life. After a year of their rotation at BOLMSH, the
PGI's were given a sent-off party by the said hospital at Bacolod Business Inn,
which was attended by the incoming interns, and the medical staff, including their Senior and Junior
consultants. Dr. Johnson, chief executive
officer and medical director of BOLMSH made a well thought words-of-inspiration
for the graduating interns. She reminded the interns of how special their
batch is among the other batches who have also rotated in the hospital.
She also added that the hospital will keep a lot of wonderful memories of the
batch - from the funny stunts of Mr. Diaper (Melvin Chico), to the disastrous
flush-flood which ruined the hospital especially the PGI's dormitory. She also
encouraged the interns to be strong no matter what their detractors are saying
against them, and to live life to the fullest while working harder to achieve
their dreams.
In response to
this, the interns prepared four music videos that showcased the unforgettable
life of a BOLMSH PGI.
The graduating
interns were Dr. Mark Agana (who got The Most Outstanding Intern and Darling of
the nurses awards), Dr. Cristine Marie Castronuevo, Dr. Radcibel Caram, Dr.
Melvin Chico, Dr. Gerard Paul Espeleta (yours truly), Dr. Marc Japitana (best
Ob-Gyn Intern), Dr. Richard Kochoa, Dr. Andylou Mangubat, Dr. Bien Eli
Nillos (best pedia intern), Dr. Gabby Penacuba, Dr. Leah Tipagad (best surgical
intern), Dr. Kenneth Villan (best medical), Dr. Joan Villanueva, and Dr.
Cornelia Zarceno.
The ceremony
was wrapped up by a special dance number from the outgoing interns.
