Busy December!

December 27, 2006

The month of December has been a busy month for the BOLMSH PGI's. Aside from doing their daily activities in the four corners of the hospital as interns, these young doctors assigned themselves to do a somewhat "offbeat" tasks.

Singing. December is christmas month, and in connection to this, the PGI's tried their best to spread the spirit of christmas though christmas carols. Everyday, the interns allotted an extra time from their duty hours practicing for their caroling. For others, singing is a tougher job to do than admitting patients. But what the heck? Everybody was enjoying! As of this time, the interns have already showed their singing prowess to more than 10 doctors and have already earned more than 20,000 bucks for their funds.

Cleaning. During the middle of the month, a disaster has happened at the hospital. A flash flood ruined the whole basement of the hospital including the the PGI's dormitory. All the books, clothes , and even the television set that one of the interns has brought with him were all submerged in a 5-feet deep mixture of mud and water. The day after the flood was a "D" day as the PGI's joined each other fixing up the dorm.

Dancing. The hospital held its christmas party at the Garden Royale the day after the flood. And even if the PGI's were all tired and are still in a shock of what had happened, the show must go on. The interns still have to put on their dancing shoes and showcase their dancing skills in a production number that they have practiced for almost three weeks. It turned out to be fun after all, as it was one of the most applauded numbers in the party. Not to mention the comic participation of a co-intern Melvin Chico, everybody enjoyed the said dance number!
