Last time we dealt with the expression 'mu chuairt'. This week we deal
with the very similar expression 'mun cuairt'. As with 'mu chuairt', 'mun
cuairt' is used both as an adverb and as a preposition.
2. 'mun cuairt' + gen.
3. mun cuairt air (prep. + dat.)
4. mun cuairt do (prep.) This is an alternative form of 'mun cuairt air', but doesn't seem to be so common. Bha e a' feuchainn ri aghaidh fhalach on fheadhainn a bha mun cuairt dha. He was trying to hide his face from those about him. Tha a' mhuir mun cuairt do'n eilean seo gu math nas fhuaire na tha na h-uisgeachan aig an taigh. The sea about this island is colder than the waters at home are. |
