The Greatest Video Games - Revisited [Starcraft]
The Best Game Ever?

Take Your Pick: Humans, Aliens,... or More Aliens

Starcraft is a game of alien-world domination. You choose between three different races (human, alien, and alien) and then follow a story line in which you fight for that races survival while alternately fighting and teaming up with various factions of the other two races.

the story line of the original game is fantastic, and the story line of Brood War, the expansion set, is just as riveting.

The CPU is not very challenging, and if I remember right there are 7 different levels of AI. If you play the game alot you can become quite proficient and some of my friends have been known to take on 6 or even 7 CPU's at the same time. If you hit the computer when it is set to an AI level of 5 then it becomes an interesting challenge.

This game is like command and conquer in its format. The game requires intense involvement as you have to usually micro-manage up to six decent armies at once as you battle on the different fronts. This is seriously one amazing game.

Starcraft
Graphics: 9
Although the characters are small and aren't very detailed, they need to be that way since 50 of them have to fit on the screen at the same time. When you get a huge shmear of units mangling each other it makes for an awesome site, and thus the high rating.
Playability: 9
Although being successful at Starcraft requires furious pointing and clicking action, I can't think of any annoying aspects of the gameplay. Everything seems to work exactly as expected. It may take a while to learn all the different commands and hot keys for the numerous options, but the overall gameplay is excellent.
Fun Factor: 10
The only other game that I've never gotten tired of besides Starcraft is Tecmo Super Bowl. This game is very entertaining, challenging, and rewarding. It has enough options that it would take years of consistent playing before you ran out of challenges.
