I Love Japan
First off, this game is basically glorified cockfighting. There are these animals in the magical world that are captured and trained in order to fight each other. Despite this game teaching children to have animal fights, this game is incredible. To make a game this amazingly fun for such a limited system just blows me a away. As an 11 year old boy, you set off on your own to catch all 150 Pokemon and become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever.
Your Pokemon become stronger and stronger if you train them correctly throughout your journey and allow you to take on bigger and better opponents. As you fight you learn strategies and tactics that help you defeat the other trainers.
| | Pokemon Red + Blue | Graphics: 1 The graphics are good for Gameboy. I just keep thinking about how sweet his game would have been if it came out for X-Box or PS2 and had killer graphics. |
Playability: 10
All the puzzles and different aspects of the game are mastered readily, and from the first five minutes you've got it down. There also aren't many confusing parts in the game, the story is laid out fantastic and there isn't much question on what the next objective is in the game. |
Fun Factor: 9 Besides becoming the greatest trainer and caputuring all 150 Pokemon, this game has tons of mini-missions that keep it fresh while playing. I know Slig has logged 150 hours on his, so once you beat the game there are still fun things you can do. This game definitely justifies the ridiculous Pokemon craze that it started. |
