The Greatest Video Games - Revisited [PGA Tour Golf II]
I don't have a slice that bad in real life.

Tommy Armour III has just birdied

PGA Tour Golf II is basically just a straightforward golf game. It stood out because it was by far the best and most realistic golf game of its time. I played PGA Tour Golf I after I played this game, and II blew it out of the water just like it did to every golf game prior to it.

The wind and bunkers play realistically, as well as the clubs. There is no hope of hitting 250 with your 3 iron, the distances are fixed pretty well. Despite the terrible graphics, the courses are near exact replicas of the PGA tour courses. Except for dealing with the odd lack of...civilization on the side of every hole, the only thing that could have made this game more realistic would be to have an option to let a drunken John Daly play through, or maybe a soundbyte of Fuzzy Zoeller making racist comments every once in a while.

PGA Tour Golf II
Graphics: 2
I never realized how bad the graphics are until my friend started making fun of them. They are horrible. The trees look good, and the golfers look pretty good. But the animation is choppy and the rest of the background absolutely stinks. Each hole just has endless green to the sides, and the horizon is miles and miles off in the distance where the same mountains conspicuously surround the course.
Playability: 8
Once you get used to how hard you need to swing this game is very straightforward. You press the button when you want to start your swing, and then you press the button again to determine how much you sliced/hooked your shot. Sometimes you kind of get robbed as when you are putting from 12 inches away, yet the ball goes 8 inches even though you swung so it so it should have gone three feet. Be prepared for some extreme frusteration when you first play and slice everything horribly and finish 18 over par.
Fun Factor: 8
This game is extremely challenging. Even after you can shoot 20 under, and 14 under regularly, you sometimes can mess up and have a tough round or tournament. Also, there are different courses that can really be challenging. Finding another experienced player to play against makes this game one of the top 2 player games available for any system.
