WHY DON'T YOU GO IN YOUR HOME? ARE YOU TOO GOOD FOR YOUR HOME?
Hey look, its Mario..and hes playing golf! On Gameboy Color! There isnt much else to describe. This was made by the same developers that brought you Mario Golf on N64 but they added a few new goodies on this version such as the ability to create your own character and develop him with various training areas. Characters joining Mario in this adventure through the wondrous world of golf include Luigi, Wario, and four completely new opponentsPutts, Grace, Tiny, and Gene Yuss.
| | Mario Golf | Graphics: 4 This is about the highest rating a Gameboy Color game could possibly achieve. Most people know that Gameboy graphics just plain old suck...well, the graphics in this game are nearly adequate. It is up to par with the original Nintendo graphics, which is nice. Unfortunately it was released 14 years laterwhich isnt nice. |
Playability: 9
Im nearly sick of filling in this column for Mario games. Playability comes with the territory. I really cant think of any complaints about the flawless playability of this game.oh wait, I just thought of one. It is way too easy to cheat. If you want to birdie or eagle every hole, you can save and quit on each hole. Of course cheating is wrong, but on the more difficult courses, you will be very tempted to cheat. Nintendo should have made a feature to delete your save every time you load it, preventing the ease of cheating. Of course that is a small complaint, for this game is more playable than your mother. Yeah, thats right.I went there. |
Fun Factor: 7 Well, its no Pokemon, but if Pokemon didnt exist this would be my favorite Gameboy game. I remember buying this game for a trip once and I ended up playing it more than anything else. It isnt just the golf that makes the game, it is the extras thrown in. There are bunch of quirks, such as a hole where you need to hit the pin so you can help a man get his hat back. It is the RPG elements that really make the game good. Itll only take you 15-20 hours to beat everything, but that will be a well spent 15-20 hours.. |
