The Greatest Video Games - Revisited [Gunsmoke]
Put on your shootin' boots

Hicksville? Billy Bob? Those Japaneese programmers are hilarious!

In this game your goal as the lone gunman Billy Bob is to save the town of Hicksville from the gang of outlaws known as The Wingates. The good Japaneese at Capcom describe it a little differently, as 'the lone gunman walked into town to save the town to save the people from the Wingates.' Suddenly I am very proud of my grammer.

This game is a fast-paced shoot-em-up which requires alot of finger speed in order to fire off the maximum number of rounds while dodging bullets from every angle.

As you travel through the game you have to defeat different outlaws who have different weapons that increase in difficulty. The bosses are fairly interesting while maintaining the 'old west' theme. You won't find any flying dragons in this game, although one of the bosses seems to stand out from the rest: a transporting ninja. How a transporting ninja fits into the wild wild west is beyond me, but aren't these odd occurances that appear in the video games of our chilhood just the reason that why we love those crazy programmer's view of America? "All your base belong to us!"

Gunsmoke
Graphics: 2
It was 1988. Let's not get greedy. We were just happy the characters looked like they were walking.
Playability: 10
Here is one of those real simple games. Basically you just shoot and walk, there wasn't much to complicate or mess up on here. The game flows smooth and is quite entertaining.
Fun Factor: 6
Thankfully this is a short game, as there aren't any options to keep it fresh. Its a fun little western, but mowing down generic villians, which is a riot at first, gets old by level 4.
