Its all about the GTA
 GTA has a pretty good plot, which may surprise the brainless blood-thirsty gamers who just go around killing to satisfy their sadistic evil tendencies. Missions are sent to you by all the local crime lords and must be accomplished to gain more trust and thus get more difficult missions. Some of the missions include drug-running, kidnapping, stealing, exploding things and other highly illegal and destructive behavior. This allows for plenty of opportunities in which to whet your pallet with violence, however in my opinion, the game is more rewarding if you are descrete and attempt to keep the maximum amount of respect for human life while playing the game. Not only does this help me feel moral, it also keeps the police off my back, who are programmed into the game to hassle you when you break the law.

The great thing here in GTA is that there are no set limits on what you can do. If missions are not what you crave, then this game will satisfy, rip off a set of wheels and get underway!

Graphics: 3/7
Depending on if you have set the graphics option to high or not, the graphics can be really good... or really bad. Like, Nintendo bad. The fast rate at which things run with the bad graphics can be worth it, but thankfully we all have computers faster than 4mhz nowadays and don't have to worry much about the system requirements. With the better graphics, the screen is very clear and sharp. |
Playability: 5
There are some serious problems with the playability, one being that if you use a keyboard things can get pretty hard to control. The game moves pretty fast and it takes awhile to become adept at manuevering your vehicle. Another serious thing is that there seem to be only 8 directions in which you can move or shoot, North, Northwest, Northeast, West, East, and then South, Southeast, and Southwest. So basically if a someone is standing, in relation to you, between South and Southeast, they cannot be hit until you align your character differently. This really stinks. |
Fun Factor: 7.5
This is definitely one of the all-time greats. If senseless meyhem and destruction are your thing then this is your game. Also, if you like intricate plots, in depth assignments, and challenging gameplay then this is also your game. GTA has something for everyone, and the challenging assignments and missions keep the game fresh for quite some time. In fact, I still haven't beaten this game. |
