Does anyone else think its ironic that they called it Final Fantasy when they keep coming out with new games?
This game was released after the immense popularity of Final Fantasy VII for the Sony Playstation. As soon as this game sold a few million copies all kinds of Square games began popping up in storesBushido Blade, Brave Fencer Musashi, Saga Frontier, Xenogearsum, this one. Like the title suggests, this is a tactical RPG scoring off the prestige of the Final Fantasy name.
| | Final Fantasy Tactics | Graphics: 7.5 The graphics were pretty darn good when the game came out. The characters werent poopy looking polygons like the ones found in Final Fantasy VII. There were 30-40 different areas where you fought battles and all had unique features such as running water, lava, towns, mountains, etc. Sometimes it would randomly rain, which changed things such as damage caused by lightning, etc. Another thing I really like was rotating and zooming in and out. It were little features like this that really sold the game on graphics. |
Playability: 8
The first time I played this game I was pretty confused and disappointed. What theso this game involves no walking around and talking to people!? All you can do is fight battles? SO DUMB. I wasnt aware this was how tactical RPGs worked. Once I could get this new gaming concept through my thick skull I started winning more battles and becoming more and more addicted to the game. The game takes a really long time to get old because there are so many different jobs, abilities, and monsters to contend with. Oh yeah, you can tame monsters and then breed them. Black Chocobos rule! |
Fun Factor: 9.5 This is my favorite Final Fantasy game ever, (which is actually saying a lot). The game was so fresh and cool when it came out. The game is really challenging too, at least until you get Orlandu. His lightning stab rules all. The storyline rules, the game never gets old, the graphics are still good to todays standardswriting this review makes me want to go play the game. Im gonna stop writing this review so I can play the gamesee ya. |
