The Greatest Video Games - Revisited [Bases Loaded]
Good Lord this game is old

The Best Baseball Game Ever!!! ...is definitely NOT this one.

So yeah. This was a great game for Nintendo when it came out back in 1988. The game sported made up teams and players, as well as imaginary suped up superstars (like Paste for New Jersey, who remains a gaming legend to this day).

The game takes way too long to play and it takes a ridiculous amount of time to finish a season. I started a season with Philladelphia and won 52 straight games without reaching the pennant or playoffs or anything. It was just lame. I recently found out that it either takes 70 games or 70 wins to finish a regular season. I don't care which it is, thats just too long.

Graphics: 1.5
The graphics were respectable back in the day, but they aren't good even for Nintendo standards. Although look at this sweet clip I found. Some kid made it with flash. There actually was a charging the mound cinema but it was much different than this.
Playability: 3
Once the ball was in the air the game was pretty much the same as RBI Baseball, however the pitcher-batter scene was quite different. This game was fairly difficult, but there were easy to cheat. I used to pick a pitcher named Car and just throw the same unhittable pitch all game. Bases Loaded is NHL Hockey-esque in that once you figured out the cheap tricks you were completely unstoppable.
Fun Factor: 2
This game is better than WCW Nitro but not much else. The games take so dang long. Ugh. Its painful to think I wasted time playing over 52 of these disgraceful events.
