Feelin' Blue
 Azure Dreams is a unique RPG that blends monster capturing and raising made popular through the Pokemon series with simulated dating, made popular with�I don�t know, dating simulators. Another side quest is to help rebuild your town so throw a little Sim City in the mix too. You are a boy destined to be a great monster tamer and go on a quest in search of your father who disappeared in the tower when you very young. The entire game takes place in the city and in the tower. You might think this would get boring but it helps that the levels in the tower are randomly generated each time you enter it.

The graphics are very average for Playstation standards. The sprite graphics are nice sometimes but sometimes they are blurry or make no sense. You will have the opportunity to buy a motorbike type object to ride around the town in. I don�t know what the developers were thinking of when they designed this bike because it looks a lot like a penis with a pair of testicles. I�ll let you judge for yourself. |
Playability: 6
This game is going to frustrate you at first. I know a few people who tried playing the game and ended up giving up on it after the 2nd or 3rd sitting. It isn�t like traditional RPG�s and it is very difficult until your monsters level up and you start tempering swords and shields. The most difficult adjustment to make is surviving the tower. If you get killed in the tower you lose everything, even the items you had before you entered the tower. Eventually you�ll be forced to train yourself to play very conservatively and then things are fine. |
Fun Factor: 6.5
Personally, I loved this game. It wasn�t as thrilling as RPG�s like Chrono Trigger and some of the Final Fantasy games but I�ll always think of it as one of the better Playstation RPG�s. It took me close to 45 hours to beat it and even then you can keep playing the game to raise your monsters and stuff. Building up the town and getting girlfriends is pretty fun too. My guy was a pimp in the tower and with the ladies. |
