"AX Holdings is reacting to the growing consensus in Maltese civil society that a golf course in Verdala is a social and environmental disgrace. Stilfling public debate will not help anyone" said James Debono, a spokesperson of AD -The Green Party. AD-The Green Party challenged AX Holdings "to publish the names of those farmers who are presently in favour of the development of a golf course on agricultural land at Verdala". AD- The Green Party insists that farmers and other persons who are exposed to the pressures of heavily financed, professionally advised and highly motivated speculators should be allowed a cooling off period to rescind any agreement made at such an obvious disadvantage.
