Infidel Devil Recommends...

I'm commonly asked how I became such a lowly kafir (disbeliever), and like all things in these high tech days, there's a simple answer: The Internet!

The Internet brings the Devil of rational thinking worldwide 24-7, and it is with that spirit that I guide my flock of goats towards other resources on the 'net that I find of assistance in thought-crime and calumny. Dig in!

Secular Islam
A new and improved website for promoting humanism in the Muslim world. A site dedicated to the separation of "Mosque and State." A site put up by the Kafir Al-Akbar, Ibn Warraq. 'Nuff said.

Disaffected Muslim
Blog containing well-written and knowledgeable critiques of Islamic belief and practice along with the personal experience of the author, an American convert to Islam.

Prevailing Myth
A brilliant Atheist and apostate from Islam who uses the pseudonym Mojo Bobo put forth this site. It has some interesting points about logic and Islam. Highly recommended!

Islam @ the Secular Web
This page contains links to many of the other sites that I would recommend you take a gander at in examining Islam from a critical perspective. The Secular Web is probably the biggest Atheist site on the net.

Faith Freedom International
A site by Ali Sina, an Iranian apostate, pointing out the inconsistencies of Islamic belief, as well as the theological roots of Islamic violence. The site has an excellent link section, and many very informative essays. Previously: Rational Thinking

Mukto Mona
A Bengali (Bangla) and English site from a Free Thinker's perspective. The vast majority of the articles critique Islam or Islamic apologetics, but other articles range from the veracity of atheism to refutations of the flim-flam, flapdoodle and calumny put forth by certain Indian gurus and 'godmen'.

Kissing Hank's Ass
A parable that describes to a tee Islam and Christianity.

Islamic Monitor
Provides links to all of the radical Islamic groups one's heart could desire!

Alternative View of Islam
A site that attempts to compile the most extensive list of sites critical of Islam on the net. The listed sites range from the polite to the openly hostile, and the list itself has been bounced off of space providers in the past. A cornucopia of web pages giving readers a more accurate picture of the subersive plots of the kuffaar. Yamkuroona wa Allaahu khayru al-Maakireena!

Know Islam
A web site that takes the somewhat politically incorrect road of attempting to judge Islam based on both deen in practice as well as deen in theory, with the main goal being to hi-light exhibitions of the darker side of the former. The site has a good interactive quality to it, allowing visitors to easily take part in discussion on the topics presented.

James Randi Educational Foundation
Home of James Randi's $1,000,000 challenge to anyone able to produce evidence of the supernatural. Nuermous articles refuting and ridiculing pseudoscience and belief in the paranormal.

We suppose some of you would like to find places to debate topics relevant to theism in general or some specific religion (exempli gratia: Islam, Christianity, et cetera) in particular, so here are some spots on the net that we recommend:
  1. soc.religion.islam - This moderated usenet group is the best spot on the net to debate topics relevant to Islam. While the moderation policy sometimes makes discussion move at a slow pace, the discussions are nonetheless thrilling, as it has the highest concentration of educated, intelligent Muslims on the net.

  2. alt.religion.islam - This is the unmoderated version of SRI. With no moderators, profanity and poorly thought-out hate speech rules most days. Nonetheless, an occasional topic or two comes around that is of interest, and searching through the archives can result in the digging up of a real nugget.

  3. soc.religion.christian - This moderated usenet group is the Christian equivalent of SRI. Some of the Christians are so sharp in this group that Christian-Muslim dialogue has ground to halt (unlike so many other places on the net), simply because the Muslims can't keep up.

  4. alt.atheism - This usenet group has a massive collection of atheists and theists debating belief in God. While there are many intelligent arguments to be found there, the unmoderated nature of the group does give rise to some frequent abuse, usually in the form of ad-hominem attacks.

  5. Internet Infidels Discussion Board - The Secular Web's official discussion forum, this is probably the best place to debate topics related to atheism and theism.

  6. Bismika Allaahuma Forum - While the discussion takes a rather large step down from the quality of discourse found at SRI, this is still a good place to engage in debates that pit the alleged veracity of Islam against that of Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Atheism, and other ideologies.

  7. FFI Forum - This is the official discussion board of Ali Sina's Faith Freedom International organization. The forum (and the majority of its members) encourages free thinking and rational critique of all the organized religions, but the majority of the focus is on Islam. Interestingly, the approach of some of the chief members of the forum differ from the approach of this site to such a degree that those said members have accused this site and one of its webmasters of being apologists for Islam.

  8. Understanding Islam - Probably the least exciting of the boards listed here, this forum can still have its entertaining moments.

  9. sci.skeptic - This usenet group is dedicated to refuting belief in paranormal claims and various other forms of pseudo-scientific claptrap. As good a place as any to debate the verisimilitude of astrology, numerology, tarot cards, psychics, and various other behaviors that contribute to the degradation of the intellect.

And of course, let us not forget some of the great theist sites out there:
  1. Islamic Awareness - Dr. Muhammad Saifullaah's thorough defense of the true deen. With well researched and intelligently written articles on a variety of subjects, this is, in our opinion, the best pro-Islamic site on the net.
  2. Bismika Allaahuma - MENJ's wonderful site - one of the few Islamic sites to demonstrate familiarity with Hebrew.
  3. Critical Discourse - Imran Aijaz' powerful site, using high-grade Philosophical training to simulaneously defend Islam against the kuffaar and purge the deen of pseudo-apologetics.
  4. Answering Islam - Still the best resource on the net regarding Christian responses to Islam.
  5. Examine the Truth - Nadir Ahmed's page of debates with members of Answering Islam, the Freethought Mecca, and other groups that have the audacity to doubt the veracity of Islam.
  6. Muslim America - The unofficial site of... well... Muslims in America, we guess.
  7. Answering Christianity - A poor man's Islamic Awareness, this is a response to Answering Islam. The site makes some laughable errors.
  8. Heger Eingangsseite - Christoph Heger's interesting comments on textual analysis of the Islamic corpora.
