As salaamu Alaykum ya ikhwan-ul-muslimeen,

Some Kufar have cast aspersions about the authenticity of the genetic
miracle of the Holy Qur'an.  Clearly their hearts are covered from the Truth
of Islam, and every new bit of evidence gives them all the more reason to
spread their filthy shaytanic whisperings and slanders.

Witness the Kafir Mushrik Jochen Katz, trying to discredit Dr. Khan without
even looking at the evidence.  What pretension he shows, as he dismisses the
signs of Allah without so much as a forethought for the Day of Judgement.
Truly Allah will confront him with the knowledge he sought to lie and
deceive about. For all who would even take one moment- one moment at the
most- to look at the world and wonder, just wonder how the world came to
be...

AND YET STILL THEY WILL DISBELIEVE!  Aghstafirullah!  Allah forgive the
human race!  How many miracles did he show did Pharoah!?  How many miracles
did he show to the Israelites?!  To 'Isa ibn Maryam alaihis-salaam?  To the
Rasul, Sal Allahu Alaihi Wa Salaam?  TO US THROUGH HIS WORDS, REVEALED
THROUGH THE ANGEL JABREEL TO OUR HOLY PROPHET?!

AND YET still they will disbelieve!

Brothers and sisters in Islam, fellow Muslims, shall we allow the Miracles
of the Qur'an be distorted by miscreant missionaries of mushrikeen, by
shaytanic secularists, by racist and bigoted orientalists?!  LA!  La la la
la la, la la la la!  NO! No No No No No!  Never!  Stand up for the deen,
stand up for the sirat, stand up for our Rabb,  Allah, Creator of the
Heavens and the Earth, Maker and Moulder of both embryos and galaxies!

There was information in the article, which the Kufar could have used if
they gave a single care to the truth they deny.  But we never heard them
say- wait until I write to the "North American Muslim Science Journal!"  No,
they won't entertain that Allah is their Creator for a single moment, for
they are in clear rebellion against his commandments by their oceans of sin,
whereby they make a sport of perversion!

SO HERE IT IS KUFAR!  Go talk to Dr. Khan yourself, if you can withstand the
very revelations that made the Prophet Muhammad, the exemplar of humanity
(SAWS), quiver under sheets, shaken to the very bone!

And I suppose Kufar, that isn't enough for you is it!  IS IT!  Here is the
very phone number of the brother who interviewed Dr. Khan: (817) 792-3877.
And inshaa Allah this is of course what will happen: before you call you
will FILL YOUR EARS WITH WAX, for you cannot comprehend that the tide is
turning, and the Kufar will be BURNING!

Aghstafirullah!  I am a man, like yourself.  I am frail.  I am weak.  But I
RECOGNIZE my vileness, and the horribleness of what I have done!  I ask
Allah to forgive me, and forgive you.  If only you could come, and lower the
pride that allows you to ignore the commandments of your Creator!

I apologize for my tone, but the matter is grave.  Shirk is the greatest
sin- idolatry the greatest folly.  Please find your way out of the darkness
and into the Light of Allah's visage!  With it will come peace.

Please, look at the evidence!  Allah's revelation speaks for itself- no
humans need interpret the Words of Allah, just obey!

Allah's humble servant,

Mustapha Kareem

Why, exactly, is Dr. Khan not publishing his findings in an objective,
peer-reviewed science journal?

Could it be that he has bats in his minaret?

Well, this was my original posting-which I will explain in greater detail
the sarcasm, and the point behind the exercise.

========Salaam,

I came across an article over the internet, and since it said it is
<<Note the mysterious origins, I can't point to a reputable source of news.
I could have just as soon pull out of my...>>
free to distribute, I thought I'd share it with all of you.
========================================
Muslim Scientist Profiles: Dr. Ahmad Khan
by Sameer Chouwadhary  <<Both are generic Desi names, might as well be using
Smith, or Johnson>>

Upon arriving at Dr. Ahmad Khan's laboratory, I can tell from the
boisterous way he says salaam that it is not going to be a typical
interview.  Dr. Khan, to say the least, is glowingly euphoric, and he seems
to be consciously trying to lower the level of excitement in his voice.
<<This is my impression of the purveyors of miracles, they love hype, and so
I show a hyper "Dr. Khan.">>

By all accounts this is the same Dr. Khan known to his geneticist
colleagues as soft-spoken and shy- given to a calm, straight-faced demeanor.
<<Truly show me a scientific miracle that has changed anyone's life.  Why
wouldn't Allah give the cure for Cancer, or not even create it in the first
place?  He doesn't have enough dominion over the heavens and earth?>>
As he offers me some piping hot chai, and bades me strenuously with his
hands to sit within his office chambers, I begin to wonder if in fact I had
heard correctly what he, to my utter consternation, had thought brought me
<<This is another technique utilized, the "convert."  Sure I was  a skeptic
like you, BUuuuttt, the Evveedeence says...>>
to see him. Dr. Khan begins to tell me that he had not only found evidence
of the Holy Qur'an's authorship, but, in fact, the authorship of mankind.

Little did I know before walking into the sleek mirrored-face "GenLab" on
the campus of the University of New Mexico, that on the fifth floor I would
find a scientist, who by the sheer scope of his findings may very well end
up as familiar a name as a Galileo, Newton, or Einstein.  I thought quite
simply that I was going to be interviewing Dr. Khan about his book in
development, which I was told previously was to be a synthesis of genetics
and Islam.  I figure, hey, a little about the morality of cloning here  <<I
chose genetics specifically, because religionists are often vociferiously
opposed on the basis of their imaginary deities.  Allah says we can't create
a fly, which shows what he knows.  We can make flies with legs on their
heads, the fruit fly genome is one that has been extensively mapped.)>>,
another little bit about genetic engineering there
<<Ohh!  Ohh!  Don't mess with that! Don't Play God!  Well, if he got it
right the first time we wouldn't have to...>>
, and badaboom badabang- a
simple little volume which puts genetics in its proper perspective.  My
expectations exponentially surpassed, I ask my first question with my mouth
agape - "You're kidding?  Right?"

"Nehi!  Subhan Allah!  Nehi!"  <<I throw in the one word of Urdu I know, or
think I know....>> He laughs, the largest conceivable grin on
his face, as he brushes aside a few of the sundry piles of papers clogging
his pigsty of a desk.  I cast a glance at the wall behind his desk, bare
save for a framed ayat-ul-kursi and a family portrait of his former
beardless self <<The miracle CHANGED Dr. Khan so much he decided to sprout a
beard in accordance with Sunnah>> along with his wife Nur, and their two
small children.  I don't find any evidence of the ostentation one might expect from some one who
graduated summa cum laude from Duke University.  I distinctly get the
impression that despite his status as a young (31 years of age) and up and
coming geneticist, that his love remains solely for Allah and his research.
Diplomas and awards are nothing more than clumps of paper to him.  <<I love
the recantation of the qualities of the Sahabah, They were soooooo humble,
they luuuveed Allah so way much more than yoooooooouuuuuuu!  Sure they were-
they were human beings.  Period.>>

My list of questions made irrelevant by Dr. Khan's revelation, I begin to
try to ascertain what exactly he had discovered and how, asking him just to
divulge a little of his research and how he had come about it.

"For a few years now I have mused during my Ph.D. training that there was
the possibility for information other than that for the construction of
polypeptides to be encoded by individual codons or nucleotides of DNA.
<<Reading the Skeptical Inquirer, the March/April edition would reveal an
article entitled "Hidden Messages in DNA?">>But
it was only after a Jum'ah khutbah where I heard the Imam mention a verse in
the Holy Qur'an where I put two and two together."  <<Ha! That's a hoot.
Getting inspiration from the pulpit!  For science?!  I'm sorry, the Khutbahs
I have witnessed have been mockeries of science, parroted recitations of
dogmas and pretended miracles...>>

Ahmad, as  I now call him, rises up from his seat and reaches to the top of
the massive bookshelf to the left of his desk <<The Qu'ran is so precious it
can't touch the earth- it came from heaven as evidenced by....>>, grasping
hold of the Qur'an,
by its looks very worn.  <<What a pious man, always reading Qur'ans, and
Surely all Hafiz Qur'aans are moral exemplars!Shuuh!>>An interesting
combination I think to myself- a lab
coat and a white kufi. <<The image of Islamic tradition and modern science
meshed>>>  But I have little more time for such musings on the
fashions of the day, as he kisses the Qur'an and opens it to his selected
verses.

 "Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem. Bismillah Ir-Rahman Ir-Raheem.
Sanureehim ayatinaa filafaaqi wafi anfusihim Hatta yatabayyana lahum annahu
ul-Haqq, awalam yakfi birabbika annahu 'ala kulli shayiin shaheedoon."  He
pauses for a breath, and his index finger moves over to the English text:
"Soon will We show them Our Signs in the furthest regions of the earth, and
in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the
Truth.  Is it not enough that your Lord witnesses all things?"

"Which Sura is that?"  "It is from the forty-first Sura, Fussilat, the
fifty-third ayat."  "Shukriyya, go on..."

"You may have heard of a study by a non-Muslim scientist by the name of
Keith Moore?"  "Yes, but if you could refresh my memory..."

"Quite simply Keith Moore is the world authority on embryology, <<The
fallacy of argument from authority raises its head in about every single
debate about Islam.  After all, ALLAH wants this and Allah knows
everything... Plus, as witnessed at the http://www.it-is-truth.com there is
a marked tendency to rely on the opinions of others rather than on direct
evidence.>>> and after
having read the Holy Qur'an he came to see that there was a remarkable
correspondence of the Qur'an's description of embryos with the descriptions
of modern science.  <<This seems to be by far the most widespread miracle
hoax, so it is only touching that I allude to it>> So we can see from this
that indeed the Holy Qur'an has
shown us a sign in our own souls, our own selves, by relating information
that due to its microscopic nature could not have been known fourteen
hundred years ago."  <<Well if the embryo is microscopic, couldn't Almighty
Allah also know the submicroscopic- particles and molecules of DNA?>>

"What I've come to realize is that the Holy Qur'an has many levels of
meaning  <<This is claimed, but I'm not sure how well demonstrated.>>, some
of which are known only to Allah subhana wa t'ala himself.  <<What is the
Good of only Allah knowing?  He needs to tell himself something he doesn't
know?>>
But what I recognized is that if we look at the Arabic, the ayat in question
uses the same word for Qur'anic verses- 'ayaat.'  And it says as you read
along, that those same verses are 'fi anfusihim'- are in themselves- in the
human beings.  Coming as I do from the specialty of genetics, I realized
that the verses of the Qur'an could indeed be within each human being- coded
within our DNA."  <<This I think sounds like a plausable interpretation of
the verse, taking "ayaat" too mean literally the ayaat of the Qur'aan coded
into DNA, although it is used in different senses in the Qur'an>>

"But aren't you just speculating that the meaning of the ayat is that ayaat
from the Qur'an appear in some form or another within the genome?"  <<Wait a
sec, says the reasonable Muslim, half of him knowing there is no miracle he
can demonstrate, the other half knowing that it has to be a miracle, or else
Islam is false.>>

"Yes, at first....At first it was speculation, but then I began to piece
together more indications that there was a possibility that verses of the
Holy Qur'an could be a part of the genome.  What you must realize is that
much of the DNA in our genome doesn't code for the production of proteins at
all.  The non-coding regions- introns- are often called junk DNA.  Mashaa
Allah.  As it turns out, it is the farthest possible thing from junk, it is
the words of our Creator, a great sign that it was Allah who gave us the
breath of life."  <<A reference to the widespread disdain for evolution
among many Muslims.  Although we might here from Americanized Muslims or
Ahmaddiyaa who say differently....>>

"So how did you test your hypothesis, and who else have you consulted?"

"GenLab had a government grant to study the genetic roots of intelligence,
<<another hint, that belief in miracles can hinder one's intelligence>>
and at the time this idea struck me, we were focusing on mapping the central
region of chromosome 19.  <<This refers to the sect called the Submitters,
followers of Rashid Khalifa.  What a coincidence, it is the same number 19
found coded absolutely EVERYWHERE you TRY to find it in the Qur'an!>>I
talked with my younger brother, 'Imran, who is a
systems analyst, and consulted with him about developing a way to see if any
Qur'anic ayat could be found within the intron regions of chromosome 19 that
had been mapped."

"It was quite a project, because we had to figure out what Arabic letter
each different possible codon stood for, by iterating each possible coding
system through the introns and seeing if any of those combinations resulted
in ayaat from the Holy Qur'an."<<Alhamdullilah the Bible code!  Now the
Qur'an/Genetic code.  Did I mention that sentences from Salman Rushdie's
novel the Satanic Verses can be found within the Genome as well?  What
clearer indication that Rushdie is God?!>>

"January 2nd, 1999.  Two o'clock in the morning we found our first ayaat.
Alhamdullilah!  Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem.  Bismillah Ir
Rahman Ir Raheem.  Iqra bismi rabbika ladhi khalaq.  Read in the name of
your Lord who created!  Region p38q!"

"The first ayat revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, Sal Allahu Alaihi wa
Salaam!?"

"Yes, I was just as astonished as you are now.  But the thing is, with each
ayat we found, finding the next ayat came faster and faster, as we began to
compile the full coding system.  After that it has been a breeze.  Our only
trouble with finding more ayat has been that not enough of the genome has
been mapped by geneticists to be searched.  So far we only have found 1/10
of the Qur'an."  <<The expectation of more.  I know nothing about genetics,
so I just don't make any explicit checkable claims.  Other then that I don't
know what the campus of the UNM looks like...>>

"Although we obviously want to make our findings known to the greater
Muslim- greater world in general, we are taking precautions to make sure our
heads are screwed on right...<<How touching, the Doctor is even going to
pretend to be rational, after all, Islam is a rational religion so I here,
unlike the irrational ones...>>you can never be too careful.  In the past
few
weeks I've been talking with individual Muslim scientists, just so I could
get some feedback, and make sure that our findings are ready to be published
come next fall."  <<Findings, what findings?>>

"But I am confident that we've found a phenomenon of great interest, such
that I am willing to put my entire career on the line.  I've revealed my
findings to my fellow geneticists here at GenLab, and believe me- this has
been the first time I've found Martin or Clive [two of his co-workers] even
willing to discuss religion or Islam.  I've also written to two non-Muslim
skeptics inviting them to analyze my findings: Dan Larhammar of Uppsala
University in Sweden, and Aris Dreismann <<writers of the DNA code article
in the Skeptical Inquirer>>at the Technical University of
Berlin.  I doubt they'll remain skeptical for long..."

"There is such a tremendous amount of data that we're going to have to be
analyzing it over the next few months, but I hope to create both a book for
popular consumption  <<The pseudo-scientific drivel is directed not at
scientists, but as those who might be among the 95% scientifically
illiterate...>> as well as submit an abstract to Science very shortly."
<<Ya, the day one of the most prestigious scientific journals publishes 100%
proof of the magic bunny out of the hat>>

"I'm speechless!  Subhan Allah!  But can you show me some of the verses you
've found?"

Just then I find out what some of the sheets of paper are on his desk.  He
hands two sheets to me, one covered with four roman letters, T, C, G, and A,
sprawling across the sheet, separated in columns of three letters.  The
other in Arabic script is clear as day- after many 'lam's, and a couple of
random 'ayn's and 'qafs' I see what looks like a sentence.  I ask him the
meaning.

"From Sura al baqarah, the sixth ayat.  In English it says: 'As to those
who reject faith, it is the same to them whether you warn them or do not
warn them; they will not believe.'"  <<Replace Warning with Threats...fear
the gigantic mutant ninja chipmunks who are roaming the galaxy in search of
species to enslave...>>

"The other page is a listing of the actual sequence of nucleotides, of
which there are four types.  Every three code for an Arabic letter."  He
pulls out a laminated table, with Thymine, Adenine, Cytosine, and Guanine
written vertically for the first nucleotide, then horizontally across the
top for the second, and horizontally again for the third."

"Instead of amino acids, as you can see from this table there are two
codons for every Arabic letter, as well as for the ta' marbuta and hamza.
There is also a code for the end of each ayat, just like there would be
codons which would stop gene transcription."

<<I don't dismiss the possibility of putting a book on the genome, just that
there would be human hands at work doing so...For instance, a terrorist
group might send a viral plague and a letter to scientists showing the
encryption of their message within the virus...well my next novel...>>

"Subhan Allah.  I just feel so blessed to find such a miracle at such a
young age- I can only marvel at what else we might find inshaa Allah, you
know..  I can only hope that within our lifetimes other Muslim scientists
find out the meaning of the other 'ayaat' in nature that Allah makes
reference to."  <<The absolute abudance of these ayaat in Scientific
journals is a powerful testimony to Islam.  Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize
it was this ad hoc excuse or that ad hoc excuse that prevented this from
happening.  But this will change in the Future, once we find the Authentic
Miracle, not like those other Khalifite, Ismaili....fakes.>>

"Would you happen to have any last words for our readers?"
<<Before they die of an uncritical mindset?>>

"I just hope that after the publication of my book 'The Holy Qur'an and
Genetics' that Muslims begin to better understand how Allah has made Islam a
complete way of life.  We cannot compartmentalize our religion, keeping
Islam out of our politics, education, arts, and sciences without grave
detriment to ourselves, and loss of the true meaning of the Final Revelation
to the Prophet Muhammad, upon whom be peace." <<I think we can safely
reverse this statement, and that the world would be just as fine without
Islam ever have existing>>

"I also hope that non-Muslims see that there is no need for the
controversies between religion and science, although no doubt some of them
will ignore the evidence even if it is right before their very eyes."

<<Sure, Islam is devoid of controversy with science- pseudo-science.  So are
Christian young Earthers- with "real" science that is....I don't blame
anyone for not wanting to seem irrational.>>

I take one last sip of my chai, looking intently at Dr. Khan's dark brown
eyes and olive complexion, knowing full well, that inshaa Allah I am looking
at the face of the Ummah's future.  <<The eyes portal to the soul that the
imaginary Dr. Khan doesn't have, nor do we.  The Ummah's future!  Ha!  I
wonder if the world Islamicists could organize a bake sale!  Although no
doubt they can be good at organizing discord...>>

I would explain my intentions by referring any interested parties to a
website from the James Randi Foundation.

http://www.randi.org/

If anyone had the privilege of viewing a special with 20/20's John Stossel,
they may remember that Randi was a magician who found himself bewildered by
people who would think that  he called upon some supernatural force or
whatnot.

Similar to his idea, I wanted to examine the premise that  this can be seen
in the religion of Islam, especially by those at the forefront of
propigating it.

So I just tried my little hoax to do an "experiment" similar to some of
those that Randi has done, which would also be a satire on the phenomenon of
miracle mongering in general.
]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]

BTW, I invite all of the 1 billion muslims who are able, to submit Islam to
his challenge.  Demonstrate the supernatural, and you will receive over a
million dollars.  Just send them a Qur'an, I guess, and the check is in the
mail... Surely this would be a great boon for da'wa!  Why for that amount of
money, about the only thing one could do would be to turn in Bin Lauden!
Hey Taliban, send us your top scientists...

This genetic story is a hoax.  Is there any particular reason why I would
want to convert today?  Why not wait until it has been reviewed by a
non-Muslim?  If it is true, it will eventually hit the secular press.  There
have been too many hoaxes by too many religions for me to care about an
unverified claim.

Mohammed was a selfish, conceited, evil liar.  That may sound like an
insult, but obviously, if I am not a Muslim, I must believe that Mohammed
was a liar.  He killed thousands of people, therefore he was evil.  He owned
slaves.  I have read portions of the Koran and was not impressed.  Your
religion is false and evil.

In the battle against Banu Quraiza, the Muslim forces massacred some one
thousand Jewish me.  Their women and children were sold into slavery, and
their property was divided among the Muslim soldiers.  Mohammed was the
leader of the Muslim forces there.  If this isn't evil, what is?

The miracle is quite true.
I recently did an analysis of the Qur'an looking for hidden codes
and found my own telephone number!  I suppose this would only
work in an english translation but, then again, if you dial my
phone you must understand english to talk to me.
Unfortunately, the area code was not correct, but is a code that
is not yet used.  Perhaps it will be my area code in the future!
The genius of God is fully revealed in his design.  The Qur'an
can be used as a phone book!

Of course I am not going to tell you my number; I certainly
don't want to receive calls from obnoxious heathen skeptics.
