ROCHESTER -- A private family committal service for Lorraine M. Janssen will be Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. Cremation will precede the service.
Mrs. Janssen, 80, of Rochester, formerly of Mazeppa, died Monday (May 17, 2004) at Rochester Healthcare West, where she had lived since December 2003.
Lorraine M. White was born April 26, 1924, in New Haven Township, Dunn County, Wis. As a child she moved to the Mazeppa area with her family, grew up on the family farm and attended area rural schools. In 1947, she married Merlin Lecy, and he died Nov. 24, 1951. She married Arnold Janssen on Dec. 11, 1954, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, and he also preceded her in death. For many years she was a seamstress at Cronin-Peterson Menswear and later Anderson's Formal Wear, both in Rochester, and had also been self-employed in sewing and alterations. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia (Drew) Janssen of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; a sister, Elrose (Don) Stoppel of Colorado; and a brother, Marvin (Kathy) White of Mazeppa. She was preceded in death by two daughters, two sisters and three brothers.
Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville is in charge of arrangements.

Rites Friday for Lorretta L. Augustin, 55
STEWARTVILLE -- The funeral for Lorretta L. Augustin will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hay Creek with the Rev. Jonathan Nack officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Augustin, 55, of Hay Creek, a Stewartville native, died Monday afternoon at St. John's Regional Health Center in Red Wing.
Loretta L. Lecy was born June 10, 1941, in Stewartville, graduated from Stewartville High School in 1959 and worked on the EMT crew in Hayfield before moving to Minneapolis. She worked for Prudential Insurance Co. in Minneapolis until moving to Red Wing in 1983. On Sept. 24, 1983, she married Harold Augustin in Red Wing. Mrs. Augustin was an administrative assistant for Red Norgaard and John Smereczniak at Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States in Red Wing. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hay Creek and the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries, and enjoyed crafts, cookbooks and visiting Disney World.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Scott Peterson of Winter Springs, Fla., and Tod Peterson of Red Wing; three stepsons, Dan Augustin and Brian Augustin, both of Red Wing, and Kevin Augustin of Frontenac; seven grandchildren; two sisters, her twin, Lottie (Mrs. Jim) Kingsbury of Red Wing, and Lorraine (Mrs. Don) Christopherson of Wheaton, Ill.; and two brothers, Duane Lecy of Chatfield and Floyd ``Butch'' Lecy of Spring Valley. Her parents preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bodelson-Mahn Funeral Home in Red Wing. @et."

- Kenneth Glenn Johnson -- Le Roy LE ROY --- The funeral for Kenneth Glenn Johnson will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Le Roy Lutheran Church with the Rev. Tom Kolden officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. Mr. Johnson, 87, of Le Roy, a former Chevrolet dealer, died Tuesday (March 30, 1999) at the Adams Health Care Center. He was born June 19, 1911, in Traer, Iowa. After moving to Le Roy from Stewartville in 1940, he worked at the Ford garage, and in 1941 purchased the Standard Oil service station in Le Roy. In 1949 he was awarded the Chevrolet dealership for Le Roy, operated it until 1970 when his son took over the business, and continued to work there until 1985. On Jan. 13, 1932, he married Leila Lecy in Spring Valley. She died March 5, 1971. He married Verna Ebling on Jan. 22, 1972, at the Lutheran parsonage in Le Roy. She also resides at Adams Health Care Center. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Le Roy Commerical Club, and a past member of the Le Roy-Ostrander School Board and Odd Fellows Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and auto auctions. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Glenn of Le Roy; two daughters, Donna (Mrs. James) Lewis of Hayfield and Elaine Fowler of Bloomington, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Diane (Mrs. John) Driscoll of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leonard of Rochester. He was preceded in death by an infant son, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters. Friends may call an hour before the service Thursday at the church. Hutchins Funeral home in Le Roy is in charge of arrangements."
