You, Me and Dupree
"Two's company. Dupree's a crowd."

Film genre: Comedy
Directors: Anthony Russo & Joe Russo
Starring: Owen Wilson, Matt Dillon, Kate Hudson, Michael Douglas
I only really watched this due to the lack of other films to see, but I did have some hope that it might be entertaining enough due to Owen Wilson. Ultimately it did have a few (as in some, but not many) funny moments, but the only real positive from the film was the gorgeous Kate Hudson being in it. The movie just wasn't consistently funny enough and dragged in too many places. There were several moments in it that seemed completely random and out of place, seemingly just put in there to get a laugh, but generally failing. Matt Dillon, meant to be the good guy, came off as unlikeable and a bit of a jerk sometimes, and the subplot involving him and his father-in-law (a sleepwalking, in-for-the-money Michael Douglas) was too serious and unfunny for a supposed comedy. Generally the film felt like a disjointed and inconsistent affair; it had potential but the script needed a few more drafts.
The summary
An appealing cast fail to bring a poor script to life. Wasted potential.
