The next motion picture instalment of one of the most controversial television programmes of all-time has hit cinemas again with the same kind of insanely disgusting stunts which either disturb or amuse. Bulls, sharks, obese women, bees and anacondas make up just some of the obstacles for the ensemble as they go in search of their once unique style of revolting hilarity. The direction of filmmaking nowadays is relatively clear when you consider that these glorified pranks, involving an up-and-coming star and his chums (Knoxville), with no obvious plot, are leading the box-office over probable Oscar contenders.
Who cares though? The sheer triumph of the first film was always going to equate to at least a moderately successful sequel, and the quality is similar. Opinions are certainly split over the content of Jackass and its rivals, but many filmgoers interested in gross and shock comedy will approve of this film. If seeing the limits of human pain mixed with an ever-present infantile attitude fascinates you, then this is the film for you. A comparison of this sequel to a theme park attraction is quite fitting. After riding on a rollercoaster, most people feel unwell and yet the adrenaline thrill has settled your craving to be entertained. Substitute the riding aspect with astonishment and you have Tremaine's film.
The summary
The laughter is executed well by the goons undertaking the pranks but soon they'll surely run out of new material. A good sequel though nonetheless.
