The film
Click has one of those great 'what if' concepts that the studio executives love because they can be summed up in a sentence. The pitch for this film - 'What if you had a remote control that could control everything?' - sounds brilliant, but it definitely did not live up to the promise. I am not an Adam Sandler fan, but I still went into the film with an open mind, and it wasn't really him that was the film's main problem (although I still didn't warm to him at all). The film started off OK but after a while it starts unexpectedly going into the future, and that's where it goes off the rails completely. It seems to be trying to be a modern It's a Wonderful Life but it just ends up being boring and depressing. The jokes that were there were mostly really telegraphed and obvious. Kate Beckinsale, as always, was stunning, but she deserved to be in a better film (in fact, her CV definitely has its share of duds). One to miss.

The summary
Adam Sandler has made some good films and some bad ones. This is one of the latter.
