Alex changed from charismatic ladies man to silent monster heel, LX Blade. But before Alex would appear for UCW, he had some unfinished business with CCPW and the FWA British title. Rumours of Shane's return to Capital City on their Hertford show were rife on the internet, fuelled further when Shane himself emailed the fan forum to inform Cab Kennedy of his intentions to disrupt the show if he did not receive his 50% share of the company. Cab replied with an open challenge, "if you want it, come and get it".

On July 5th 2000, the FWA title experience its most controversial night. Alex arrived as he warned to disrupt the show along with fellow UCW friend Jonny Storm and UCW director Ross 'The Boss" Gordon. Cab then appeared, backed upped by three of the FWA's main stays, Jody Fleisch, Justin Richards and Guy Thunder and challenged Alex to a winner takes all title v company shares elimination match.

The main event went for a blistering 20 minutes ending with former team mates Shane and Thunder on opposite sides. After a referee bump, Thunder and Shane ended up in a double pinning combination and just as the first ref awoke a second referee sprinted to ringside to make simultaneous three counts. Both Shane and Thunder were declared victorious and the title was declared vacant. Controversy would surround the head referee's decision to change his mind and declare Thunder as the winner.

Alex's stint with the UCW lasted all of six months. Repackaged as LX Blade, the Alex Shane that punters either loved or hated was non-existent and in his place stood a slow, boring 80s style heavyweight monster - wrestling, by his own admission, in poor matches at both Wrestling Xplosion 1 and 2. Alex came almost close to quitting until out of the blue, UCW went under and Alex along with the other wrestlers were released from their contracts.

Free of contractual ties, Alex set about preparing for a return to the FWA and hit the gym once again, this time to shed 20 pounds. Alex alongside Cab Kennedy also re-established Capital City Pro Wrestling by setting up the Capital City Wrestling Academy and also co-hosting the Saturday night wrestling phone-in on Talksport radio.

Alex, now dubbed The Showstealer, went on a huge publicity drive as an FWA spokesperson and on April 21st in Bolton made his triumphant return stealing the show against Solid Gold Scott Parker, silencing the critics quick to criticise after his UCW tenure.

What does the future hold for Alex Shane? Many predict fortune, fame and global success, Alex on the other hand just predicts plenty of stolen shows
