Leap of Faith

Leap of Faith

1. I am not ready to feel the fingers of your fire
I’m scared I’ll just get burned.
I am not ready for the crucible of love
or maybe I don’t want to learn.

* How do I take this leap of faith?
How do I take this leap of faith for your love?
When I still struggle with what I know is true,
How do I take this leap of faith for you?

2. No, I’m not ready to balance on the wire
if I can’t see the net below.
I’ll climb up cliffs, I’ll scale the mountains,
but I won’t jump unless I know...

* How do I take this leap of faith?
How do I take this leap of faith for your love?
When I still struggle with what I know is true,
How do I take this leap of faith for you?

Stand on the edge without a sound.
Step of the ledge...I won’t look down.

* How do I take this leap of faith?
How do I take this leap of faith for your love?
When I still struggle with what I know is true,
How do I take this leap of faith for you?

Leap of Faith

The first of many songs I co-wrote with John Beck when I lived in the United States. John used to be the roadie (bass tech) for Kiss and Van Halen. That is enough to put him waaaaaay high up there in Guitar God Heaven for me.

John got bored playing the bass and is now a guitar virtuoso. I told him I wanted to do an acoustic flavored song like Toad the Wet Sprocket do so well. I sang, he played, and here's the song.
