飯菜做得真好 要稱讚人家表現勝於平時，英文可以說：You have excelled yourself 。這和八月八日介紹的You have surpassed yourself意思差不多。例如：（１）He excelled himself in the race and won the championship.（他在競賽中表現的非常出色，贏得了冠軍）。(2)You have excelled yourself with this feat of courage.（你這次，展現了相當大的勇氣）。 Excel當然是excellent（極好）的動詞，除了用於成語excel oneself，通常用於excel (somebody) at/in something 的句式，表示「在某方面表現（比某人）出色」，例如：(1)She excels her brother at/in swimming.（她游泳勝過弟弟）。(2)He excelled at/in chess.（他棋藝高超）。 伊莎貝爾見艾爾稱讚她，打趣說：Sounds like you want to get something out of me。這一句也可以改為:Sounds like you are trying to get around/round me。 To get around/round somebody有「哄人家答應做某事」的意思，例如:She is always able to get around her husband and get what she wants（她總能夠把丈夫哄得服服帖帖，無論她要什麼都答應）。 最後談談成語The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach。這是「要男人愛你，就要做些美味飯菜給他吃」的意思，例如：She invited her new boyfriend to her home for dinner, reasoning that the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach （她邀請新男朋友到家裡吃晚飯，因為她認為要抓住男人的心，必須先從他的胃下手） |
