Self-confidence and enthusiasm

　今天談的是求職面試，請繼續聽美國商界巨擘在電視怎樣指導後學：

　To be really impressive you must convey a sense of self-confidence and enthusiasm for work.（要真的予人深刻印象，你必須顯出自信和對工作的熱忱。）

　可別小覷self-confidence（自信）與enthusiasm（熱忱）這兩個字。當年我在大專院校畢業時，打算投考電視台，於是向系主任請教，這位愛爾蘭神父教授當年很慈祥地給了我兩字秘訣，就是self-confidence and enthusiasm，結果我在求職面試時，談了幾分鐘就給取錄了。

　希望青少年朋友也記這兩個字，不光是用於求職面試，日後在社會工作的漫長歲月裏也會十分受用。

　怎樣顯示自信（self-confidence）呢？

　且聽下去：You demonstrate self-confidence by your manner of speech and dress. You further show it by being well prepared for the interview with information and questions about the position.

　（你藉談吐與衣來顯示自信，並藉對該職位的資訊與問題的充分準備，進一步顯出自信。）

　怎樣顯出熱忱呢？In additon, the eagerness with which you discuss the job rather than the salary may reveal your enthusiasm for work.

　（此外，誠意地討論工作事宜而不是薪酬，也可以顯示出你對工作的熱忱。）

　Both of these qualities——self confidence and enthusiasm——are valued highly by all interviewers.

（所有主考人都是非常重視「自信」與「熱忱」這兩項特質的。）
