one I saw in the department store the other day. Did you get it there?

for $200. You've been ripped off!

得利問麥可：What do you think of my new suit?這一句的of可不可以改為about？答案是「可以」。Think of、think about都有「對某人、某物抱……看法」的意思，例如：What do you think of/about his proposal?（你認為他的建議怎樣？）不過，think high/a lot/a great deal of（認為很好）、think badly/ill of（認為不好）等的of卻不可改為about，例如：Don't think ill of him just because he was late last time（不要因為他上次遲到，就對他產生壞印象）。麥可回答得利說：I like the wide lapels and the pant cuffs。西裝褲腳的反摺邊，英式英文叫turn-up，美式則叫cuff或trouser/pant cuff，以別於指「襯衫袖口」的cuff，例如：Tuck your turn-ups/cuffs into your socks to prevent mosquito bites（把褲腳反摺處塞進襪子裡，以防被蚊叮）。Lapel是西裝的翻領，在左右兩襟，所以多用複數形式，和一般的衣領(collar)不同。Coats with narrow lapels are coming back into fashion即「窄翻領的外衣，又開始流行了」。Rip off是「敲竹槓」，這個詞拙欄從前談過，不必贅言；值得一談的，是main street。一般市鎮都有一條商鋪集中的大街，這在美國叫main street，英國叫法則頗為奇怪，是high street，切勿直譯作「高街」，例如：There are several international banks on/in the main/high street（大街上有幾家國際銀行）。
