| Magda:What are you reading? Looks like a letter. 瑪格達:你在看甚麼？看起來好像是封信。 Quentin:It is, it's a letter informing me that I've been shortlisted for a senior marketing manager's job with the airline. 昆廷:不錯，是封信，說航空公司高級市場經理一職的應徵者之中，我已獲列入精挑候選人名單。 Magda:That's great! Why are you looking so worried? 瑪格達:那很好啊！你為甚麼一臉擔心的樣子？ Quentin:It lists the interviewing panel. It's a bit scary. 昆廷:信上列出了面試小組成員，有點可怕。 Magda:Who's in the line-up? 瑪格達:小組裡有甚麼人？ Quentin:The president, the managing director, the HR director and the head of marketing. That's pretty high-powered panel. 昆廷:有公司總裁、總經理、人事部經理以及市場部主管。是個高級人員小組。 |

面試小組陣容 昆廷要出席面試，瑪格達問面試小組成員是誰：Who's in the line-up? Line up作動詞，一般指「排列成行」，例如：I lined the books up（我把書排成一行）。引申「排列」的意思，line up也可以指安排一些人做某事，或安排活動，例如：(1) I have lined up two singers and a stand-up comedian for the dinner party（我安排了兩位歌手和一位說笑話演員在晚宴上表演）。(2) What is lined up for the evening?（晚上安排了甚麼節目？） 作名詞，line-up或lineup是指「一排人」或「一組人」，常用來說球隊、樂隊等的陣容，例如：(1) She did not fail to pick out the rapist from the police line-up（她在警方一字排開的疑犯之中，找到了那強姦犯）。(2) The line-up for the concert includes some of the world's best musicians（音樂會的陣容，包括全球一些最優秀的音樂家）。 昆廷說面試小組陣容使他有點害怕：That's a pretty high-powered panel. It's a bit scary。High-powered是「強勁的」或「有權勢的」，例如a high-powered gun/motorbike（火力強大的槍/馬力大的摩托車）、a high-powered job/businessman（高級的職位/炙手可熱的商人）等。A high-powered meeting will be held to decide the issue即「這個問題，高層將開會決定」。Scary出自scare（驚嚇）一字，意思是「嚇人的」，語氣比同義的frightening隨便，例如：She insisted on sleeping with all the lights on after seeing the scary movie（她看過那齣恐怖電影後，堅持睡覺時所有燈要開）。 |
