I've just put in an application for a
better paid and higher status job.

Eddie:I'm really fed up with my present job.
Samantha:Really? What's the matter with it?
Eddie:It's so boring, the pay's miserable and there's no appreciation.
Samantha:I'm sorry to hear that. What are you going to do about it.
Eddie:I've already done something. I've just put in an application for a better paid and higher status job in the company where my brother works.
Samantha:Well I hope you get an interview. I'm sure you will.

I'm really fed up with my present job。
We fed him up as well as we could during his convalescence(他康復期間,我們盡量給他吃得好好的)。 She feeds me up with her incessant complaints/I am fed up with her incessant complaints(她不斷抱怨,使我深感厭煩)。
To be fed up的加強語氣說法,是to be fed (up) to the gills/to be fed (up) to the (back) teeth,直譯是「食物填滿肚子,直到雙腮/直到臼齒」。例如:(1) I'm really fed to the back teeth with my present job。(2) There was so much work that I got fed up to the gills and quit my job(由於工作繁多,我再也無法忍受,就辭職了)。
「提出申請」英文是to put in/submit/make an application,例如:(1) I have put in an application to work in my girlfriend's company(我向女朋友任職的公司申請工作)。(2) Are you going to make an application for employment as(或for the post of)dental hygienist?(你會不會申請牙齒保健員的職位?)
