獵頭和去職輔導 從前，不少地方都有獵頭族，即 headhunters。他們習慣把敵人頭顱砍下來作戰利品。今天，headhunters的工作變了質：這些獵頭者或獵頭公司，專門為顧客招攬其他公司的人才，而這些人才一般都是機構的頭領級人物。動詞是headhunt，常用被動語態，例如：(1) He was headhunted by a publishing company for the position of editor-in-chief（一家出版社以獵頭方式邀他出任總編輯）。(2) A headhunter has approached me about a job with a major financial institution（有獵頭公司問我有沒有興趣出任一家大金融機構的職位）。 Headhunt一般是挖走其他公司的職員，這「挖走」英文叫poach，例如：Our competitor has poached one of our best programmers（我們的商業對手挖走了我們一位優秀的程式設計員）。和headhunting agency（獵頭公司）工作性質相反的，是outplacement agency（去職輔導公司）。Outplace是指一家機構為他們解僱的職員提供心理和就業輔導，往往是聘請專業的去職輔導公司負責，例如：The outplacement agency has a brilliant record in helping outplaced employees find jobs（這家去職輔導公司，在協助被解僱職員就業上，成績輝煌）。一些人情味濃厚的公司有意解僱職員，會悄悄先為他們謀得其他職位，其他公司即以「獵頭」方式延聘。這些職員主動辭職時，還不知道是上司的安排，這種解僱方式叫做hidden outplacement（隱蔽的去職輔導）。 |
