    1 Tbsp butter
    1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced
    1 small Granny Smith apple, cored and thinly sliced
    1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

In a medium-sized skillet melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion and saute while stirring until soft, about 3 minutes. Add apple slices and cinnamon. Continue to saute, stirring, until apples are tender, about 3 minutes. Remove and cool to room temperature.

    4 Tbsp Dijon-style mustard
    3 tsp honey
    6 slices Swedish rye bread
    Lettuce leaves
    4 oz Black Forest Ham, thinly sliced
    4 oz Swiss cheese, thinly sliced

In a small bowl. whisk together honey and mustard. On bread slices, spread mustard-honey mixture. Build sandwiches as follows: lettuce leaves, ham, cheese, apples, onion.
