Where oh where can I get Pingu X's and Y's from?
Pingu Magazine
Vying with the videos for the most sought after Pingu product is the
BBC's Pingu Magazine. Published monthly, it is a must for anyone claiming to
be a serious fan of The Penguin. For details on how to subscribe write to:-

If you're lucky enough to live in the UK why not pop down to your nearest
news agent (or branch of WH Smith) and pick up a copy off the shelf.
Videos
Purchased on the Web
Marien van Bokkum from The Netherlands says:-
I have been
searching for more then a year for PINGU video's. After
many email through all over the world I had found an
address in the UK where you can order by email. There
are 9 video's to order. Everyone all over the world
can order the video's. Visit the Web site at
Cheap or What! CDs.
Note: These videos will not play in most American VCRs, they are
European PAL videos.
..in the UK
These days even the big supermarkets in the UK stock Pingu videos. Also
try the BBC shops, Early Learning Centres and WH Smith.
..in Norway
Cindy Kandolf of Trondheim, Norway says:-
Pingu videos can usually be found in the children's section of better
video stores. There are six as of this writing, though rumors are that a
seventh has been released in Sweden which means it should be here soon!
We have also seen the videos at Obs! and Rema Stormarked (discount
stores), at irregular intervals, and also at bookstores that have
children's video sections.
Books
..in the UK
In the UK, often found on the shelf next to the videos. (We're so lucky.)
The books are great, they contain actual screen shots from the Pingu TV series.
If you're very lucky you might stumble across the Pingu
annual.

..in the UK
Try the BBC shops, Mothercare, and the Early Learning Centres for
Pingu soft toys, minatures and igloos.
..in Norway
Cindy Kandolf of Trondheim, Norway says:-
A clerk at the Steen&Stroem department
store in Oslo has told me that they get Pingu toys in from time to time,
but sell out fairly quickly. (Why then don't they order more? Cindy asks,
in frustration.) Since we're not in Oslo all that often we've never been
lucky enough to find much there, outside of small collectable figurines.
Otherwise I've had much better luck checking larger, independent toy
stores. Chains like Edwis are *hopeless*!
Buyer beware, there is a board game named "Pingu" which has no connection
to the penguin we all know and love. (We've been warned that it's
pretty dull, too.)
Clothes
..in the UK
I've found tee-shirts in the BBC shop here in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Unfortunately, they are a little on the small size (sizes 5-7 yrs)
which is a shame because I'd quite like one for myself.
Purchased a superb Pingu duffle(sp?) bag from British Home Stores (BHS)
the other day. It's coloured blue, about 40 cm high and has a furry Pingu
stitched on it. Marvellous.
BHS seem to be the place to go for Pingu clothes too. Tee-shirts, pyjamas,
track-suits, and plenty more besides, again though only really catering for
small children and thus loosing out on a potential market of thousands of
nerdy big kids. Like me.
