Ignition coil driver circuit
This simple circuit is used to supply square-wave pulses to an ignition coil at a frequency variable from 70Hz to about 5kHz. The 2N3055 transistor must be on a heatsink to prevent it from overheating. The driver circuit is connected to the two bolt terminals show on the photo on the left. This circuit can also be used to drive other transformers to generate high voltages.
The ignition coil that I used with this circuit.
