Sony's PlayStation 2 (PS2)
The next generation to the ever-popular PlayStation (PS1 - released in 1995) console, the 2000 release of the PS2 was received with much enthusiasm as it was nearly impossible to get your hands on the sold out system.
Not only able to play the new PS2 games, the PS2 can play the original PS1 games as well as music CDs and movie DVDs, but this only scratches the surface of the machine's capabilities. With 2 USB ports and 1 Firewire port, you can connect anything from keyboards and mice to cameras and printers, and with a modem slot and hard drive bay, the computing potential goes well beyond its predecessor.
Some of the key system specs. are as follows:
Clock Speed 295 MHz
128 bit processor
147 MHz Graphic Processor
32 MB of RDRAM (Memory)
48 Channels of Sound
2 MB of Sound Memory
24 Speed CD ROM/ 4 Speed DVD ROM
