| Special instructions for the Placer Creek claim in Tres Piedras, NM at Hopewell Lake | ||||
| Send a letter of intent to the Tres Piedras Ranger Station in May. You need to indicate what type of equipment you will be using on the claim at Placer Creek.In order to get an authorization from them you can only be using non-mechanized equipment and only metal detect in the stream bed. Use of the claim is only available from June 1 - Aug. 31. There are 32 primitive sites at the lake available but you are able to camp on the claim and also in the forest. If you plan on using mechanized equipment you must send a letter of intent to the different organizations listed in your claims guide under the Placer Creek location. Tres Piedras Ranger Station P.O.
