[[Farfarello]] |

[[Real Name]] Jei (alternately spelled 'Jay'), and we really don't know his last name. [[Nicknames]] (Lmfao) Far, Farf, Farfie, Farfuls, Farfamallow, Farfajello, Psycho, ButcherBoy, BlenderBoy, Anti-Christ, etc. [[Code Name]] Berserker, though he's never actually addressed by it. [[Age]] 19-20, and while most accept the latter of the two, I honestly don't think he's that old. [[Nationality]] Irish, and yes it's confirmed in the manga. I think. [[Eyes]] Dark red in manga, Amber in series, though in doujinshi and a few official pictues his eyes are actually blue, of all colors... [[Hair]] Rust-red in manga, white or silver in series; in one of the episodes Weiss finds a picture of Jei as a child and his hair is silver, which leads me to believe that, oddly enough, it's his natural hair color. [[Height]] 6'2'', though he doesn't seem that damned tall... [[Powers]] (Official powers) Feels no pain, feels no fear, and can detach soul from body. I don't consider this a real power, but he also seems to hamper Crawford's visionary abilities at times. [[Weapons]] Anything he can stab you with. In the series he totes around a particularly nasty lookin' thing that looks like a retractable fencing lance, but it's common in fanfiction to read about him carrying upwards of twelve knives on his person at all times. He also has a distinct fondness for needles and his mouth. At certain points in the series we see him with a gun, but it's probably Schuldich's. |

[[Religion]] (Lmfao) He was Catholic at one point, before he... had a dispute with God. I wouldn't call him Satanist, though, and he's not Atheist. He believes in God's existence quite strongly. He's just out to kill Him. [[Affiliations]] Schwarz, SS [[Distinguishing Features]] It'd be hard to miss this kid in a crowd, I'll tell you what... He has four small, hooplike earrings in the cartlidge of each ear (color varies by source). In almost every picture I've seen, he wears a thick, black leather dog collar, and a similar, double-belted wrist band on his left arm. He wears an eyepatch over his left eye, normally black, and bandages over his biceps, torso and forearms randomly. He has three prominent scars; the first cuts from under his right ear to just under his right eye. That second cuts diagonally across the bridge of his nose and under the patch (I assume that that was the cut that took his eye), and the third starts at the back of the right side of his jaw, across his chin, and bisects his lower lip. It is also widely held that he bears one, if not more, tattoos somewhere on his person, and that they are religious in nature. |

Farfarello is one of the best characters in anime, in my opinion. There are so many ways to write his character, and so little written about him, that makes it a challenge. From what little is known about his background, he was raised in Ireland by people who were not his parents until he was six. He was a devout Catholic, and the 'youth group' that he frequented was taught by a woman known as Sister Ruth. She confesses to him one day that she's his real mother, and he flies off the handle, grabs a kitchen knife, and murders his 'family': mom, dad, and sister. He attempts to kill the sister as well, but fails, and after that, we have about a decade of unknown history. I assume that he travelled around Ireland or England, hunting victims. Crawford recruits him out of an SS-run facility and incorporates him into Schwarz. He is, again to my knowledge, the only member of Schwarz who never has the pleasure of a trip to Rosenkreuz, SS' training facility for psis. Far is undisputably the best hand-to-hand combat specialist in the group. He's fast, and the knives only enhance his lethal abilities. From what I've read, his purpose in the group is to kill. In the series, Crawford locks him in his 'room', bound in a straight jacket and suspended upside-down from his cieling; I don't think that Far is crazy. I think that, given the right motivation or traumatic experiences, any person has the potential to murder. Far is just one of those fortunate people who embraces his flaws... well, most of them. He's confusing, and here's why: Farfarello blames God for the death of his family. He really doesn't remember killing them. He hates lies, and deciet, and he kills in the name of ridding the world of those lies. Problem is, our Farfamallow is lying to himself. He sees himself as a victim of God's lies, but he is no victim. He's a killer. He can literally rip a person limb from limb and feel no guilt; you have to be at least a little out of touch with reality to pull that off. As far as the whole 'I don't feel pain' thing... Personally, I think that it was learned. I think that in an effort to escape whatever personal anguish he suffered as a child over the death of his family, and the reality of the lies surrounding him, he fled the pain by blocking it out. That probably included physical pain as well, because at six you really don't discriminate. In that respect, I think that Far--surprisingly--is still very much a child when it comes to logic. Think about it; this guy's spent his entire life hiding from the truth, and going to extreme lengths to remove himself both from all that ails him and anything that goes against his way of thinking. In all honesty, he couldn't function in normal society without Schwarz to dictate his actions. He obsesses, and his obsession is to wipe lies from the world--how impossible is that? He's stubborn, prone to fits (of rage), and while I don't doubt that he's highly intelligent, I believe that his capacity to feel emotion and process logical thought halted when he killed his family. He has the body of a nineteen year-old, the intelligence of someone twice that age, but the mental and emotive processes of a six year-old. In the series you'll notice that he reserves his words. He only speaks when it's necessary, or when he has something really worthwhile (or smart-assed) to say. People assume that because he's a 'psychopath' he's also retarded, but that's far from the truth. He's definately intelligent, and highly so. He's anti-social, yes, but even that has its extents. In the series he's probably around Schuldich more than anyone else from their group, and--remembering that he spent a good portion of his adolescent and pubescent years with the telepath around--the impact that the German has had on Far is obvious. They're friends, if you want to say that Far has friends, and everything from Far's off-hand comments to his authority figure issues tell us that. Well, it tells ME that. Lol. That's my take on Farfuls. |
