| The DSTS, short for Dog Sidewalk Trash Society, is a small group of dog lovers who like to get together as often as possible. These neighborhood gatherings reside in Dallas, TX. Our founder, Edwin Santiago, is responsible for our neighborhood knowing each other the way we do. We hold occasional gatherings that have lasted up to 3 AM and party on our front lawns (the only reason we quit was because the sprinklers came on). We get newsletters and decide on a time and place to gather. On the newsletter you will find the usual requirements: BYOB, BYOD, BYOC: Bring Your Own Booze, Bring Your Own Dog, Bring Your Own Chair. We will gather on someone's front lawn and will chat, eat, and have a good time with each other and our dogs. Our first official meeting happened in the late summer of 1998. Edwin, Gayle, Babs and 2 others were partying on their lawns. As people walking their dogs passed by, they were invited to the gathering. Champ met Big Molly like that, he was almost 3 years old and had raging hormones. They got to know each other, and more and more people came with their dogs and soon after the DSTS was started with the first official newsletter. Our latest members, Kym and Dominique, moved in last year. They live next to Edwin and have a cat named Izzy. More on them in the Members section. But the DSTS is more than just partying on our front lawns, we like to look out for each other. Whenever one of us is out of town we look out for their pets and home. Whenever one of us is sick we take care of each other. It feels more like a family than a neighborhood. Well, OK, enough of the corny stuff and the sentimental show of emotions. This concludes our history section of the DSTS Web Page. Please feel free to tour the site or go home! |
