Amortentia~ Most powerful love potion in the world, it has a mother-of-pearl sheen. Steam rises in characteristic spirals and it smells differently to all according to what attracts the person. For Hermione the potion smelled like fresh mowed grass and fresh parchment. For Harry it smelled like Treacle Tart, Broomstick Handle and flowers he had smelled at the Burrow. This potion doesn't create love for that is impossible, instead it causes a powerful infatuation or obsession.
Deflating Draft~ Antidote to Swelling Solution.
Draught of Living Death~ Ingredients include Powdered root of Asphrodel, Valarian Roots and Infusion of Wormwood. Halfway through creating the potion it should have a smooth, black currant colored appearance. Sopophorous Bean should be cut, though according to the Half Blood Prince's instructions it is better to crush it with the flat side of a silver dagger which releases juice better than cutting. At this point it should turn a light pink shade. At this point one should stir counterclockwise until the potion turns clear, though the Half Blood Prince suggests adding a clockwise stir after every 7th counterclockwise stir.

allow to simmer for 7 minutes, add 2 drops of syrup of Hellebore.

To prepare the fluxweed has to be picked at the full moon and the lacewings must be stewed for 21 days. The potion takes about one month to prepare.

Veritaserum~ A colorless, odorless magical truth elixer, anyone who has ingested this potion has to
reveal true answers to any questions asked. This ption was used on Barty
Crouch Jr. in Book 4; Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to uncover
how his plot to get Harry Potter to Voldemort at the end of the Triwizard
Tournament.
