Episode: The Dreamstone

Repeat showing: March 25th 1992, CITV 3.55pm (This repeat showing was shown during the time that season two was airing. Half the episodes had already aired of season two when they decided to spilt it up by repeating the first 4 episodes of series one mid season. I can only imagine this was done because the second half of season two was not ready in time)

Synopsis:

The episode opens at the black mountain of 'Viltheed', home to the Lord of nightmares 'Zordrak' and his army of 'Urpney's'

Zordrak is not happy with his sergeant in charge of the Urpney army, so he feeds him to his pets in the pit of no return. He is replaced by a new sergeant called 'Blob' and he tells Blob that he better be more successful than the other seargent at stealing 'The Dreamstone'

We are then introduced to the 'Land of dreams' where the old Dreammaker sends out dreams to the sleeping world everynight from his tower by the power of the Dreamstone. Noops live in the land of dreams, Rufus is one of them and is starting his new job at Wax works, a candle making shop. Rufus is soon fired for wasting time daydreaming.

His friend Amberley suggests he works for the Dreammaker as he is always daydreaming. Rufus visits the Dreammaker and the Dreammaker hires Rufus as his apprentice. Soon Rufus is learning all the details on how to make a dream and send it, especially the most important part the dreamstone plays in this process. The Dreammaker asks Rufus to keep the Dreamstone a secret.

While the Dreammaker takes a nap, Rufus is asked to clean out all the dream bottles, but Amberley comes to visit to see how he is getting on. He immediatley shows Amberley the Dreamstone forgetting his promise to the Dreammaker. Blob comes crashing through the window and the Urpney's manage to steal the stone. Rufus falls over the dream bottles, but Amberley follows the Urpney's and jumps on the ladder, climbing aboard the whirley ped.

The Dreammaker tells Rufus that it is all his fault that the Dreamstone was stolen. Rufus decides to set off to Viltheed to rescue Amberley and get the Dreamstone back. Back at Viltheed Blob presents Zordrak with the Dreamstone and his prisoner, Amberley. Amberley is making so much noise screaming and shouting that Zordrak turns her to stone. He then tells his Argorribles (nightmares) to attack the land of dreams now that they have the Dreamstone.
