Rich and I moved to Charlotte from Cincinnati 3 years ago and decided it was time to get our first pet together and had always wanted a Doberman since Rich grew up with Dobies all his life. We began to look for breeders located near Charlotte or Cincinnati (sorry Lisa for some reason we didn�t see you or you weren�t expecting pups anytime soon).  I was lonely from leaving family, friends and my family dogs behind and was extremely anxious for a puppy.  Too anxious in fact that we ended up getting a puppy from a breeder who at the time did not test their dogs for Von Wildebrand�s Disease and instead of continuing to look for a litter that was guaranteed clear or carrier we went ahead and risked it and got our baby Hadley� who we later tested and is affected with vWD. Hadley is the best thing to happen to us; she has a perfect temperament and is so beautiful. We had many medical expenses in the beginning due to various conditions but now she is a happy and healthy 3 year old and completely spoiled! This is an example of how important it is to not only do your research but be patient to find a healthy pet.

We decided when Hadley was about 2 that she needed a sibling and someone to play with so we began another search. I am so thankful we found Lisa and Ernie. In my search for breeders I came across many who seemed to care more about the show quality and bloodline of the dogs rather than the health � this was not the case with Lisa and Ernie. They really strive to send healthy puppies to their owners. Our experience with them was perfect in every way. Their dogs are all tested for vWD and kept in an enclosed, clean and ventilated room outside with large outside runs for them to play in. The puppies are all kept in the house and are given love, attention and toys. They are given multiple wormings and baths. Lisa and Ernie are very knowledgeable about the breed and take all precautions necessary. Not to mention they are a joy to work with and send lots of info and pictures while the puppies are growing up. We love our new baby and so does Hadley. They love to run in the yard and they are both cuddlebugs who love to lay on my lap.
