| Donna Mair is no ordinary photographer. From images of tree bark imbued with natural light and shadow, to haunting visions of decayed buildings, her works teach us the power of contrast. Mair's photos invite the viewer to walk into her scenes with ease. She teases the eye with her ability to capture textures, turning a two-dimensional image into a focus of contemplation and awareness. Mair's background in the construction industry, and her love of 'industrial' objects, combined with the use of 35mm format and natural lighting, produce a tangible visual representation of unexpected beauty in common objects and places. Donna Mair currently lives in British Columbia, Canada, and continues to work in the construction sector. |
