I also have a special needs child, Scott who is 9 years old and
autistic. Great news is he is successfully attending Camp
Costanoan in the Cupertino Hills, CA for the first time. 7 days!!
I also have Max 11yrs and Jessica 3 yrs. And life is very
busy!!!!

Your site is very nicely done and chuck full of great information
on a variety of subjects. I have raised two children with ADHD. I
is a successful school teacher, the other has a harder road with
learning disabilities. He graduated from high school last month
and is going to give college a try in the fall. Thank you for
sharing your dear children and their stories with us. They are
really darling.

I saw your site listed on the spina bifida mailing list and came
to check it out. What a great job you have done!! I'm really
impressed!! I can tell you have put a lot of work into it. Your
kids are cutie's!! I'm a breast cancer survivor. My story can be

My sister asked me to look up static encephalopathy on the
internet. She has a 5 year old daughter who has been diagnozed
with this. Her daughter goes to school and has the capabilities
of a 24 - 30 month old. Any information you can give me that
would help her would be appreciated.

One more hint for stopping skidding toys. There is a plasic
shelve liner (it looks like mesh and has no adhesive) which is
made to prevent dishes from sliding. Just cut to fit surface and
place toy on top. It also works great for slippery bottomed
children to sit on. It is available where Contact pa er is sold.

I enjoyed reading the tips on the tube feedings.my daughter is 4

My grandaughter, Veronica Elizabeth is two weeks old and was born
with spina bifida. Nine hours after birth, her back was closed
and she has had a shunt put in now. Today we found out that she
will have to have the shunt repositioned tomorrow morning. S e
has not been home yet, but we are looking forward to that day!
She was 8lb 4oz at birth so was a good size and her spina bifida
is not as severe as many. She has movement in her left hip, leg
and toes - movement in the right hip and they feel with phy
iotherapy the right leg and foot will become mobile. She has
minimal fluid buildup also - so things seem to be going well. I
found you by looking for latex allergy, and I am so glad!!!!!!
You give a wealth of information and I know my daughter will be
pl ased as a simple item such as socks feels like a huge problem
right now. Please keep up the great work - Veronica, her parents
and I thank you very much. P.S. Your daughter is beautiful (I
visited her web site and checked out her pictures!)

site aftter viewing your post on the latex allergy links

Your daughter is beautiful! You are a wonderful advocate, Zoe is
lucky to have you on her side. I too have type 1 latex allergy,
am a RN, and understand how difficult it is to keep safe in this
