Homemade Electrolyte Solution
(substitute for Pedialyte)

1/2 tsp. table salt
1/4 tsp. lite salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 Tbsp. sugar*

Mix all in 1 liter boiled water

Feed 1 liter daily to supplement the regular nutrition of a child six months or older with severe diarrhea or vomiting.

Webmistress' Note: I suggest refrigerating this solution just as Pedialyte needs to be refrigerated once opened. You may want to ask your doctor or dietitian about adding a presweetened drink mix (like Crystal Lite) to improve the flavor.

*If your child is on the Ketogenic Diet, please consult your regular dietitian about including sugar in this recipe.
