Buster and his littermates were turned over to Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc. at the tender age of 3 days. There were 13 pups in a litter dumped at a shelter in North Carolina. A wonderful volunteer and the coordinator of the North Carolina branch of the rescue took on the chore of hand feeding this litter. Of the 13 pups 11 survived. At the age of 6 weeks they were divided into pairs and placed into foster homes. We volunteered to foster Buster and one of his brothers, Emmitt. Needless to say we fell in love and Buster became the third Dane to live with us. He is a sweet boy and goes to all the adoption day activities with me as an example of the breed.
