Personal Details:

Picked on as a youth, this skinny half-Candian/ half-Chinese boy learned to stick up for himself through sheer determination and later martial arts.  Using his demanding father and tough childhood as a catalyst, Erik grew into a fitness fanatic and later a North American kickboxing champion.  He owned a well-respected kickboxing school and taught not only fighters but civilian martial artists as well.  He loved his arts and loved to share them, taking his teaching and training very seriously.  Erik trained with gusto every waking moment in all forms of martial arts (Jujistu, Escrima, Tae Kwon Do, Karate, and Kung-Fu).  The only exception was his two sons (from a failed marriage) whom he loved dearly.  If Erik was not training or teaching, he could be found with his twin boys (Bruce-after his idol, and Allen-named after the mother's father), aged 5 years.  They were his joy, and his true love in the world.

Even though he was a fighter, his friends would joke with him and say he was "training for the fight that was never going to come".   That day came, however, and all of his training did little to protect those around him.  Attacked during a kickboxing match in which he was the competitor, he watched in horror as the capacity crowd turned from screams of excitement to screams of terror.  The fact that the stadium was filled with fighting experts and practicioners meant nothing.  They were soon overwhelmed.  The toughest fighters in the country dropped like flies.  It was the fast and teh lucky ones who escaped.  Erik was one of the lucky ones.

Immediately, Erik took off towards his ex-wife's home, running barefoot through the chaotic streets outside until he arived.  He arrived in time, and saw his chidren and ex-wife huddled in a closet, the woman fending the zombies off with a poker.  The home was packed with zombies, and Erik he fought to get to his children and their mother, he flew into a berserker rage kicking or throwing the zombies aside with every all the strength and ferocity his adrenaline filled body could muster.  He was driven on by the cries of, "Daddy, Help!" and "They're hurting me!!!", "Let me Go!!!"  It was insane, so many zombies and as soon as he would knock one down another would leap at him.  Slowly, so slowly he made his way to the closet.  The longer he fought, the less he heard the screams and the harder he fought.  Eventaully, he made his way to the closet.  It was too late.  He was too late and he was unable to protect them.

The unitiated would say that Erik would now have to protect himself from the flesh-eating devils, but in this case, at this moment, it was the other way around.  The zombies would have to protect themselves from the blind rage of a man who cared for nothing other than their absolute destruction.  Reaching into the closet, Erik grabbed a pair of metallic escrima sticks, and turned towards the mass of undead killers...

Erik is a protector.  He feels compelled to help those in need and protect those around him (women, children, weaker males, etc).  This trait has gotten him into trouble before, as he will fearlessly step to another's aid regardless of the odds.  In an environment where the land is overrun with zombies this trait could prove to be fatal.  Having failed to protect his "true motivation in life" - his twin sons Bruce and Allen, he has lost any caring for his own well-being.  He is now driven by two powerful emotions;  Protection (of others) and Vengence.  He lives to keep other's alive and to destroy as many of the zombies as he possibly can.  He has no fear of what may come..."I am already dead," he has said, "What is there to fear?"

Strengths: Very fit and fairly strong.  Martial Art's expert and fanatic.  He has learned a few modified martial arts tactics that work to disable or even dispatch the average zombie.  Former EMT (carries a heafty first aid fit in his backpack).  Fearless.

Weaknesses: Fearless.  Very protective of others.  "Hates" zombies and wants to destroy as many of them as he can.  A bit of a fatalist.   Near-sighted (thus he is not very good with guns).

Erik is probably doomed to die unless he can find something to give him a true meaning to go on.  He is motivated to help the other survivors but he does not really care what happens to him.  If he can find his girlfriend (whom he thinks is dead) or find someone new and important to him, he will act in a more self-presevring manner rather than the near-suicidal manner in which he confronts his new world.
